I went through and completed all the introductory quests for this character to unlock Isle of thunder raids and Nalak world boss. No matter what I do (I have trivial quests turned on to double check) I am stuck in the wrong phase. Its tuesday. There SHOULD be lots of people here killing the world boss but I havent seen anyone in two hours. I’ve tried relogging. I’ve checked wowhead to make sure I’ve done the right quests. I’ve done this damn chain on like 15 characters and have had no issues until now.
I did do the gear update on this character, and only this character, just to test it out. That’s the only difference.
I can’t solo this damn boss by myself. I’m lvl 42 lol
Are you in Chromie Time by chance? That can make a world of difference. It could be why you’re not seeing anyone.

I’ll double check. I don’t think isle of thunder has a chromie time but I could be wrong. It hasnt ever auto put me there

okay I cant find anything on a bronze timekeeper for isle of thunder. I left the entire island and went back in hoping that would do it, but no. I’ve unlocked the initial set of dailies. Did all the intro quests up to zan whatever his name was corrupting and releasing nalak, and then the alliance/horde confrontation. I got the achievement for completing everything. It just feels so bugged
You would have to go to Stormwind and talk to Chromie to see if you are in any timeline other than “the current” timeline.

Wait I think the whole gear/quest log update messed it up! Because after I initiated that, I logged in, and Chromie had me pick a timeline to go through. I picked cataclysm, but it shouldnt have affected this. Its def a bug. Typically each specific zone has a time keeper you can talk to in order to go back to present time. I had to do that in darkshore on an alt yesterday, and switch it to present time. But Isle of thunder doesn’t have that, because there’s nothing that’s changed. It’s never been rehashed.
So I think either the intro phasing bugged or maybe chromie putting me into cataclysm messed it up.
I deleted my quest from my log for cata and hearthed to SW, which took me directly to chromie and had her return me to present. Gona make the trek back to Nalak.
This shouldn’t be an issue. If this fixes it, it was def bugged
Just because I choose an alternative questing timeline shouldn’t make it remove all player interaction etc from unrelated zones. lol
The only zones that have a “time keeper” are the zones that phase with BFA zoning.
If you are in any Chromie time, Cataclysm included, it will scale you. If you want to kill a world boss somewhere, you have to leave Chromie time by selecting the option to “Return to the current timeline” from Chromie in Stormwind.

This is incorrect. There are time keepers in blasted lands and a few other older zones I don’t remember which ones. Basically any zone that was affected by expansion, I.e: cataclysm, bfa. Unless they took them out? I know there’s one in blasted lands. Pretty sure there’s one in swamp of sorrows.
Point is, me selecting a time period completely unrelated to the Mists of Pandaria expansion shouldnt affect areas in that expansion lol
The fact that I wasted near 3 hours on an issue that shouldn’t be an issue is just frustrating.
Activating Chromie Time changes the player to a different phase from players outside of it, which causes all quests and objectives from Vanilla through Shadowlands to scale up to level 60.
You’re right, Zidormi is in other zones that phased with WoD and BFA.

The way it works though, is that if you are in CT, it doesn’t matter where you go, you are considered to be in TimeWalking. So it doesn’t matter what zone you pick or where you go, it will phase all the way through SL.

Anyway I appreciate the help. I’m just super frustrated. There def should be a disclaimer when picking your timeline lol HEY. YOU WONT SEE ANYONE. ITS GREAT FOR INTROVERTS xD
I’ll let u know if this worked

Okay it worked. That makes sense but again they really should spell it out for people. I’ve been playin for 18 years and even I missed that part lol just a little note in the quest log when you go to accept: warning: will transfer you to a COMPLETELY separate timeline from the player community (except for those who chose that specific timeline) xD
It’s no longer a specific “timeline”. Everyone in Chromie Time is phased with others in Chromie Time no matter what timeline they pick.
So if you pick the Cata timeline, and someone else is in MoP CT and you’re in the same zone, you’ll see each other.
