Stuck at renown 19 after switching covenants

Same issue here… Blizz you guys want to start working again or are you guys still on break?

Also adding to the list. Stuck at 18 after switching Ventyr > Necrolord this week.

Same here for my rogue, swap to Necro, stuck at 19 with the “reach renown 20” quest.

Same here, stuck at Renown 19 unable to get Renown 20. As someone mentioned before, I’m pretty sure the issue is connected to having taken the weekly.

I’m having the same issue stuck at renown 19 - but for me it was not after switching covenants. However, I started the season late, so was still using the catchup mechanic. Definitely seems to be an issue with the sequence of getting renown from weekly quests before getting it from catchup mechanic.

I also just started late to. Sent a response to a GM but got a standard message saying there is catch up mechanics etc; etc; So maybe they either don’t care or just don’t know how to fix it.

It’d be nice if people read your post instead of just the mindless Facebook group replies of, “same still stuck at 19” to the rest of the thread.

Here is what blizzard responded to me with. Hello!

How are you this fine afternoon! I am James, here to help you because even legendary heroes like yourself need assistance sometimes  I hope the weather isn’t too bad where you are?

First, I’d like to say sorry for the wait time getting to your ticket. We’ve been in-undated with returning players currently at home due to recent world events.

You can earn Renown with your chosen Covenant by completing your Covenant Campaign or by completing the weekly quests Replenish the Reservoir and Return Lost Souls. Since there are only a few ways to earn Renown each week, all players will have their Renown capped.

*If you miss a week or do not reach your level cap for the week, there are catch-up systems in place that will allow you to get caught up. You can earn additional Renown through max level gameplay, Dungeons, Raids, PvP, and Callings (the new Emissary Quests), until you reach the current Renown cap. *

The catch up mechanic has it’s own cap, and will cap at last week’s renown cap.

The campaign will tell you to do the next quest, and it’s possible that quest wont be available to you if you lack the renown or other requirements. That is normal.

Customer Support cannot alter your renown in any way, nor the system. For feedback, or if you think there is a new genuine issue we’re unaware of, ingame, on the system menu in the bottom right go to > ? > Support > Submit feedback or report a bug (2nd image from the left)…

This is the first official acknowledgement of my suspicion. Catch-up mechanics do indeed stop at last weeks cap. Blizzard is just too stupid to realize why that is an issue. I’ll follow up on my ticket and hopefully with enough of these threads popping blizzard will pull their head out of their butt. For now though… just follow the steps I posted before for fixing it on tuesday.

I would have read this if it wasn’t a page long… but since you made a point of it I just read it and it does make sense. I will try this next week and hope for the best since blizz is slacking these days. Thanks

I had to do 10 M0, 6M+, 2 Epic BG, 2 Normal BG, Both Wings of LFR, 1 heroic instance and 5 Callings before I had a token drop.

It seems that the lower renown you have the more/faster tokens drop. But once you get within 6 of cap the drop rate is cut WAY down.

This is not the case. I was able to get cap (21) on 2 toons, the second toon was a month behind before getting to 60, but DID NOT switch Covs. It was a huge hassle to get that last token to start the next layer renown quests.

I have done LFR both wings, I have done over 10 heroics, won battle ground, did daily quest, did all the stuff in the Maw. What do we have to do to get this resolved? I have been renowned 19 for 4 days, there is no reason that I should have to wait this long, this is my only level 60, I have not swapped covenants. I have put in tickets and nothing has happened how do I get this fixed. I would really like to continue the story and not have to wait till Tuesday only to get stuck again!

What covenants did you get to 21? Could this just be a Necrolord thing?

Arden for my main and Reven for my last start alt.

It is if you save the normal weekly quests for after you’ve caught up.

Seriously, don’t touch this week’s quests until after you’re caught up to this week’s entry renown value. Otherwise, you’ll stop getting catchup drops once you’re into “this week” (beyond last week’s maximum) but you’ve burned this week’s quests.

Very simple. Do it in the order intended and it works fine.

I will try this, but this is the first I am hearing this, I saw no official documentation about it.

:face_with_raised_eyebrow:

At the risk of sounding extremely cynical, when has Blizzard ever documented anything? If you’re going to wait for official blue-text hand-holding, you’ll do a lot of waiting.

They don’t tell you everything. The intent is that the player community works these things out on their own. It’s literally part of the game.

Well you risked sounding cynical, and…SUCCESS!

Umm, drivel. Work out gameplay type things, yes. Work out intended systems, sorry not buying it. Its a bug dude.

You’re certainly entitled to your opinion. I don’t even disagree. But in every way it matters, it’s not a bug if Blizzard doesn’t think it’s a bug.

You can wait in vain for Blizzard to come around, or you can try the workaround.

I only had 3 weekly quests which is what the normal dailies are. There was no additional quests. What are we supposed to do? It seems Maldraxxus only and a bug.
