Stratholme portal problem

Just went and did Stratholme ‘Service Entrance’ and when I entered the main entrance portal I am suddenly entering the Service Entrance again and when I exit the dungeon I am back at the East Wall gate instead of the front of the Stratholme building

Edit ur post and move it to the bug forums and make sure u mention its either classic or retail.

Did you reset the dungeon before re-entering?

The two halves of Stratholme share the same instance, so you were likely just walking into your prior saved instance.

I don’t consider it bugged but rather the way they attempted to “fix” the issue in order to re-create the undead-side run is just massively different than how the dungeon worked prior to Cataclysm. The weird behavior only occurs if you spawn your instance by entering the live side first. When you do this, your instance has been flagged as a “live” run and attempting to zone in to the service entrance will place you back at the live entrance. One way you can get around this (it’s a longer run, though) is that if you run into the main entrance side and go to the big gate, that gate will be open. Pop over, do that “wing”, run back up and the gate will still be open. Swing back inside, go take care of the scarlets.

It’s a lot more running around and a bit of a bandaid fix, in all honesty, but it does help a bit.
