Strange Quest Problem

Unable to complete a Quest which I need to complete to continue the War Campaign.

Quest: Lost in the Field
0/5 injured spies healed
located Kul Tiras
Stormsong Valley…near Warfang Hold…Saltstone Mine

Looked every where around the outside/inside of mine but could not find any injured or uninjured spies. Went mountain climbing to get a better view of the surroundings of the area and to my surprise one could see the injured spies with their fine green outline, whooppy problem solved, HAHAHA, as I started to move to get down the hill all my outlined injured spies dissapeared, funny I thought, so I moved back to where I first saw the green outlines of the injured spies and true enough they were back again. I took extreme care to visualise the exact possition and went down the hill to the locations and you guessed right no injured spies everything else from dead miners to gobblins except injured spies.

Plain and simple Help…

Sounds like a phasing issue try completing any other quests in the area.

Comments on Wowhead suggest doing quests near the mine, specifically ones related to the Cycle of Hatred storyline.

I have, and they all worked out fine

There are 4 quests you need to complete in that area before the spies show up on the ground. Burn it all down, Get shredded, Saw Dusted and the follow up quest Eye for an Eye before the Spies will show up on the ground. Try that first if possible. Good Luck!

Cycle of Hatred ???

This Quest was just to spy on the horde to see what they were up to in Stormsong Valley

What Kyzera was saying was that quests that are part of the Cycle of Hatred questline may be phasing the area so that you cannot complete “Lost in the Field”. The Cycle of Hatred questline consists of 8 quests, ending in a quest called “Eye for an Eye”.

If you look up your character on Wowhead, using the quest tracking tool, it does indicate that you currently have Eye for an Eye available. Try completing that, it should hopefully clear up the phasing issue so you can complete the other quest.

Thanks for the explanation re Questline.
Did not know that Eye for an Eye quest existed until I accidentially stumbled across Felicia Gladstone, the giver of the Eye to Eye quest whilst trying to avoid 3 or 4 Goblin Shedders. Am actually at the site now looking into dtarting the quest.

What I can not understand that 4 or 5 weeks ago I did the same quest "Lost in the Field’’ with my NightElf Hunter without any problems, without even knowing or completing the quest ‘‘Eye for an Eye’’ injured spies were everywhere like take your pick of whichever is/was safe to pick without being attacked by Horde.

Maybe it will sort itself out but thanks again

If I had to guess, it would be because your Night Elf Hunter hasn’t started the Cycle of Hatred questline yet, therefore, since you hadn’t started that questline, you wouldn’t have been phased for that particular storyline yet.

Your Human Hunter started the Cycle of Hatred questline but didn’t finish it. You completed the first seven quests in that questline on 5/7, ending on the quest “Burn It All Down”. You didn’t pick up the last quest in the series, which was "Eye for an Eye. Once you completed it, that should have made the phasing for Cycle of Hatred questline no longer active, allowing you to complete quests like “Lost in the Field”.

Phasing is a great tool to help tell a story, because it changes the landscape and allows your character to experience that change, but it can get confusing if two quests are trying to tell a story in the same area.

Thanks All for your help…easy if you know how…did the Eye for an Eye quest, that was FUN…found all injured spies…protected Kelsey…found Shaw…and we are back on the Wind’s Redemption…like I said, easy as pie.

Now the only question I have to the real experts is … Why didn’t I have to do the Eye for an Eye Quest with my NightElf Hunter to see the injured spies ???

I thought I had answered that, but specifically you didn’t have to do Eye for an Eye because it isn’t required for Lost in the Field and you hadn’t started the Cycle of Hatred questline, which would have phased the area for that storyline.
