The plan though, as I remember it at least, was to occupy Teldrassil and hold it hostage so the Horde could secure Kalimdor’s Azerite.
I remember because I wanted to give Blizz a gold star. Azerite was going to change the face of warfare forever. One side was going to be living at geopolitical gunpoint so best to scramble your forces immediately rather than hoping the other guy just decides to be chill about it.
They even tied in how Greymane attacked the Forsaken at the Broken Isles. Unprovoked and when there really were much bigger things to be worried about.
The Horde were the aggressors but it wasn’t wanton villainy. It was a calculated preemptive strike that was justified by previous Alliance belligerence.
That prepatch genuinely got me hyped up. Until it didn’t.
I thought it was to hold Teldrassil and basically force the Allaince to the table because Anduin/Genn/Shaw were making a game of who could hand the Horde the most Casus Bellis.
Though I do remember “monopolizing” Azerite being a big thing.
So I got bored and started terrorizing Orgrimmar on my Druid and ya know it’s just not the same.
Don’t get me wrong I know Orgrimmar like the back of my hand so I was wayyyy more effective at it but meh.
Ducking up Stormwind just feels so much more pure. Because it’s a weirdly clean medieval city that comes off like Disney’s the Magic Kingdom. So setting stuff on fire feels nice. Setting stuff on fire in Orgrimmar isn’t really an accomplishment. They’ve pyres all over the place even though their allies have lanterns and outright electricity.
Did you know that Stormwind has a sewage system that empties into the nearby Mirror Lake and Nazferiti River and that it is connected to the Stockades?
And did you know that Stormwind is described as a beautiful city and a marvel of Human engineering and design??
Though, as you might be aware, Lordaeron also had a sewage system. You might know it as “the Undercity”.
Yeah and it’s boring. Playmobil Castle butt aesthetic. Boralus actually feels lived in and cultured. Place makes me want to get drunk on rum and sing shanties with surly dockworkers. Stormwind just reminds me how much more interesting the Horde is.
And the thing is I could forgive it’s saltine blandness. A beige wall is the best one to hang art from and the Alliance has no shortage of that between their blurple Amazonian tiger riders and crystal starship slavic space goats. But instead of the focus being on any of that the spotlight is on the damn beige wall.
I just want to post silly pictures, but the TL3 requirements are so ridiculous that I only had it when it was manually given to me.
I don’t really have the energy to post on the forums enough anymore
Noble Houses? Church of the Light? Brotherhood of the Horse?
C’mon, my friend. That’s about as beige as it gets.
I have no idea who thought giving me this power was a good idea. I also have no clue as to what list of nefarious activities gives me this power, but I assure you that I will not use it for any good or moral purpose, nor will I waste it on bettering any ethical course or cause.
I didn’t for awhile but honestly War Within has me kinda hyped from a mechanic’s standpoint. Battleground Blitz sounds great and as someone who plays at odd hours I appreciate single player content. Also the hero talent system looks pretty cool.
I’m pretty meh toward the pitched story but I’m willing to give it a shot.
I’m actually kind of a pvp freak, especially since I came back in 10.2. I just wanted positive night elf development and after 5 years of suffering that finally happened.
It could’ve been solved much better of course but I take a little bit of joy in the fact that most of the main writers responsible for BfA and SL are no longer at Blizzard.
But yea I love solo shuffle, been playing it pretty much all the time since I came back.
Also I immortalized a lovely forum poster on my account who quit the game a few years ago and whom I became very good friends with. Who recognizes her?
I figured MoP remix would be a perfect opportunity for a little project like this. Obviously I got her to 70. I’m very happy with how it turned out
