The Eldar, Word Bearers Chaos Legion and the Sisters of Battle are my fav.

In Warhammer Fantasy it’s the god of death Nagash and his armies.

He’s not going to like the Silent King’s return, especially since Imotekh blames him for the Necrons getting duped into becoming robot slaves of the C’tan (the Necrons might have escaped the C’tans’ control for the most part… but they’re still robots and a lot of them don’t like that).

Nothing a good fire line can’t gun down.

The Imperial Guard are my favorite. Because it’s basically a middle finger to the concept of Cosmic Horror.

Oh incomprehensible terrors beyond man’s comprehension? How about we build an incomprehensibly massive tank and ram it up Cthulu’s elderussy.

Beyond that I love the Newcrons. Their OG formula was just very boring because they were all emotionless automatons. Giving them personalities gave us Trazyn who is maybe my favorite character. Like in all of fiction.

The SPHESS MEHREENS are pretty hit or miss for me. I like the Salamanders, White Scars, Space Wolves- basically any of the ones that seem like they’d be pleasant to be around. The Ultramarines amuse me for how boring and sensible they are.

And then there’s the Alpha Legion;

I love the Sisters of Battle because they’re like, We’re going to build a fortress, that flys and has guns, lots and lots of guns, but also has a small army of elite warrior women who would make the Knights Templar weep in fear and Oh, you thought the rest of the Imperium was fanatical devoted to the Emperor?

Laughs in bolter rounds and flamer units

Imotekh also likes being a Necron and is indignant over the Silent King trying to return the Necrons to flesh.

He apparently according to sources is defeating the Silent King and his forces.

Imotekh truly is the true leader of the Necrons. He blames the Silent King for getting the Necrons enslaved to the C’tan and yet also embraces being a Necron and is stronger than the Silent King.

Prefer the Tau myself as they do not have the glaring weak point the Eldar have: Slaanesh is a weak point in the Eldar even if one of them usurped Tzeentch(by exploiting his own weak point: the Blue Scribes that hold the Tomes and Scrolls that serve as his put back together self) therefore no one wants them to usurp Tzeentch.

The Tau usurping Tzeentch would be a good win for the Tau as them capturing the Scrolls and Tomes that serve as Tzeentch’s Body & Mind and having a good sorcerer in their Ranks consume them to usurp Tzeentch would throw Chaos into Chaos as the Tau become the dominant force of Magic.

I thought Tau didn’t have a Warp signature?

They don’t which is why they can’t master FTL travel.

Tau are by far the most advanced in technology especially in ranged weapons. The melee memes aside I have no doubt they could become the strongest force if given enough time and a larger population. Their greatest weakness is the fact they rely on the Kroot for close combant.

The Tau are also the youngest race currently and have overestimated just how vast the Imperium is and how good the Imperiums technology is.

The tau have a long way to go before they can compete with the likes of the Eldar and Imperium when it comes to empire building.

IIRC they also have a biological limit as well. IIRC they aren’t as organized without their leader class… Ethereals? … a group that might well exist due to xeno engineering by an Eldar faction.

The humans have a 40k years advantage in terms of settling planets. The Tau just started so its obvious their abilities are limited.

Oh yeah, Humans are also stagnated by ages of tradition and superstition (not all of which are wrong…). While the tau are just basically finding out just how scary ancient humans used to be by essentially rewalking that old path.

My favorite is when they captured a buncha Imps and demanded they explain how the warp drive works. And the humans genuinely didn’t know.

I got a kick out’ve Gulliman taking in just the absolute state of the Imperium.

Yup the church controls the mail system, the navy is in charge of the trains and everything is held together with spit and string. Good luck

I love how the Tau slowly figured out how absurd the Imperium is.

Like they killed I wanna say like a Terminator Marine or Sergeant - one of the bigger than the already too big ones - and assumed THAT was the Emperor the humans keep talking about.

Then also presumed the stories of Imperial Titans had to be a myth or propaganda as surely nothing that gigantic would be feasible if possible at all.

Annnnnd then;

Yup. Believe the hype blue boys.

Last night I was watching youtube shorts and one was about the Tau finding out what was inside a Space Marine Dreadnaught… a mutilated and possibly mutated human that was older than their own empire. The machine it was in was even older… the poor Tau freaked out that there were humans older than their civilization.

Tau are poster good guys who don’t hate entire races just for existing so they got my vote. It seems GWshop pulled their products from their site so maybe they get new models and updated Codex with an actual cool looking star map.

Tbf humans were hunted to near extinction during the Long Night by a bunch of aliens. So their shoot first policy isn’t completely irrational.

That’s why I love 40k. Everything that seems completely insane actually has some logic to it. Like you might actually want to just destroy a planet if too many Chaos cults pop up. Especially if it’s Nurgle or Emperor forbid Slaneesh. Instant vaporization is a far, far kinder fate than what will happen to you otherwise.

Nurgle is pretty much Maldraxxus pretty much.

I am sure Maldraxxus isn’t poisoning people on purpose.
