I’d say dread raven for flight just because I’m biased, but the options you listed would fit draenei more, obviously.

I was saving dread ravens for an arakkoa Flight Form. As the creations of a Draenic Wild God, I assume something druidic wouldn’t be beyond them.

I didn’t play it at all, but I sometimes get in a similar mood since Total War has gotten me so curious about the Warhammer world. It would be nice to explore some of the many settlements I conquer. I’m sure most of them have at least a tidbit or two of history. Especially ones that paints get named after, like Nuln and Carroburg.

Also hey, almost everything is going to be able to be hidden in transmog now! Gloves, boots, chest… everything except pants! Neat. Finally I can wear shirts with flared sleeves! This calls for some sexy pirate mogs!! :pirate_flag:

Livestream about FF14’s next expansion going on. Surprisingly the setting is not Garlemald, but I like what it is a lot more than I would Garlemald.

What it is is pretty big spoilers though.

The Hrothgar are literally Ronso from FF10. Like, literally: they showed it off by making Kimahri in the character creator.

Dancer looks fun. But I love muh ranged dps.

My DH shall have the mog I’ve always wanted on him. I’m so happy.

It’ll also be nice to be able to use shirts for mogs other than “which shirt color matches this armor that, for some stupid reason, has no armor near the shoulders but has it on the rest of the arm” .

I know it’s final fantasy but what did I watch?

FF14’s cosmology is such that whenever light or darkness are too weak, the other one floods in and destroys the world. There’s no villain doing this, it’s just how the forces work. In fact, the villains don’t want it to happen either.

The next expansion is going to a world called the First, one of 13 alternate universes that split off from the main universe (the Source) 12,000 years ago. We learned a couple of expansions ago that the people in the First defeated their villains a long time ago, but in doing so accidentally triggered a Flood of Light. So now the next expansion is us going to save them from the Flood of Light by bringing back the darkness to their world.

And how is this different from WoW again?

So a flood of Light took over an alternate world.

Next up for WoW- we go to Alternate Draenor to save it from the Light.

What’s really cool is that big crystal tower in the trailer was a raid in the base game that everyone thought was a one and done story never to be seen again, but now it pops up here and the devs said last night they recommend people playing through the raid before this expansion comes out.

There’s a character who goes to sleep for thousands of years inside the tower at the end of the raid, and so people are speculating he’s the robed guy speaking in the trailer. I hope so, because I really liked him.

That’s what I thought when I found out what was going on as well. It’s very roughly the same as us going to AU Draenor, and handling the Lightbound.

But, back when I first started FFXIV, I found out they did the whole giant-sword-stuck-in-the-ground thing way before WoW did. It just wasn’t a big deal in FF because even worse was going on at the time.

“Giant sword impaled the planet? Nah we’ve got bigger issues.”

You might think that’s a telltale sign that your world is kinda messed up.

Honestly I feel like I’ve seen massive, giant swords impaled in the ground before in fantasy, but I can’t think of a name. Probably not FF cause I never played it before last year.

Super Mario RPG?

FF also did “sentient, feminine energy mass at the core of the planet” before WoW, but to be fair that’s an extremely old trope and FF didn’t invent it either.

It’s not as big as Sargeras’ sword. Unless Hydaelyn is a much larger planet than Azeroth. (Also note, two planets named after a female deific figure, but that trope goes back to some ancient mythologies)

But the shot before Bahamut breaks out of his prison is almost a smaller scale copy of Silithus. It’s just not a big deal because… well, Bahamut broke out.

That was a pretty impressive trailer. I’ve bought shadowbringers and am looking forwards to it.
