I commiserate. Migraines and eyestrain are just par for the course for me, now.

I even have like the special yellow tinted glasses I’m supposed to wear for gaming, or otherwise looking at screens for extended periods. I just never remember, because I don’t even wear ordinary glasses. Have you tried something like that?

I’ve had chronic migraines my entire life so it’s not anything new. It’s just that certain games cause me problems, especially bright games or games I can’t adjust certain settings for like screen shake or blur.

I’m going to talk to my doctor about it during my next appointment to see if he has any suggestions (like those glasses you mentioned) or if I’m just going to have to be careful about certain games.

So glad to see the lounge is still alive and well. Looking back at the archive it fills my heart with nostalgia remembering all the wonderful people, posts and discussions we’ve shared here . . . and I hope for many more to come.

My one issue is the animation style. I’ve never been a fan of anime. There was a brief flirtation back in the 80s, but I never found it to be my cup of tea.

The great thing about anime is that it’s a huuuuge genre, with loads of different styles! Especially as the years have gone on, things have changed and evolved in all sorts of ways. Certain shows’ styles aren’t quite to my taste, but then others blow me away.

FFXIV starts really really slow. Dahar couldn’t get past the first fifty-ish levels.

I’m still trying to break into HW content after like, half a decade, but that speaks more to my attention span than to the game, lol.

It’s kind of like Danganronpa in its annoying tendency to repetitively make people you like suffer with no real payoff for too long that it gets boring and unenjoyable.

Yeah, I’ve never been much a fan of shows like that either. Seems to be a few of them every season. I did watch Madoka, as it was sort of a cultural “event”, but I honestly wish I hadn’t. Very well made, very significant and paradigm shifting, great music and art design, but… not for me.

Then again, I’ve sat through every Gundam, and hoo boy do some of those get needlessly dark. Still dig the mech design and get the model kits, but… I imagine a happier story when I build and display them. A little internal fanfic never hurt anyone : )

And best thing is they’re linked. So leveling one also levels the others. If you level Summoner to max and decide to try Scholar, it’ll be at max as well.

Plus, Scholars get to summon cute little magic healing fairies, while Summoners get adorable little magic squirrel fox things! I looove carbuncles~

Hi Wickham! Hope you’ve been well too. Welcome back!

Finished the Kul Tiran unlock today, woo! It was fun. I love how Blizzard is keeping a stable of recurring characters throughout the expansion. Always fun to see Brother Pike and the Outriggers again. I also really enjoyed Princess’s storyline, and the grumpy shipbuilder.

By far the biggest highlight, though, was the music! Especially this lovely little tune that started playing in Brennadam. It’s called “Boat”, but I can only find it in “Kul Tiran Allied Race Music” collections, and not on its own.

Anyway, now to ponder what my next adventure will be. The new Yoshi game is getting close, so maybe a Warhammer campaign to pass the time until then~

Now I just need hidden gloves and my DH can have the perfect mog.

I’ve been having a weird mood where I’m missing, of all things, Warhammer AoR. I didn’t play it terribly much, but I guess my nostaliga is from the fact I’ve been getting more and more into Warhammer stuff, and AoR was my introduction to Warhammer.

Though the game probably could’ve done without factions.

The music this expansion has been stellar. I’m still working on unlocking the new allied races and am more excited to start a Zandalari than a Kul’Tiran personally, but I agree about the recurring characters. Hopefully it’s a sign of things to come and they don’t kill them off as frequently (Nazgrim, Taylor, etc.).
