I’m glad they aged up Rhaenyra and changed small deatils about her relationship with Daemon. It was a little groomy before. I was hoping she’d have a romance plot with Cristan, he’s super cute!
My thoughts throughout this whole episode were “get it, girl!” Alicent is already bitter, good. That’s what you get Alicent!
I am not looking forward to the Dance of Dragons because I know what happens.

Cristina certainly is. I know Rhaenary marries Daemon in the book and has a couple kids with him. Not sure if that will come to pass in the show though.
And apparently the show is doing so well, even with Amazons lord of the rings show out, that a season 2 was greenlight
That happens much later.
She marries another guy first, her cousin. (Technically) Dad’s sister’s son. He rides Seasmoke, one of the coolest coloured dragons in the whole franchise.
Well, that’s good to know
Oh you sweet summer child, I hope you don’t know how this story ends
I know how it ends. Most of the Targaryaen line gets wiped out in the civil war, dragons having not been seen for several years until Drogon and his brothers hatch years later

Yeah, it’s kind of the beginning of the end.

It will be interesting to see where they take it VS the book, I have an odd feeling that Ser Criston may end up heartbroken or feeling used where he was pretty much Rhaenyra’s surrogate booty call. (No shade, I agree with your ‘get it, girl!’ sentiment. Although, I was concerned the power dynamic might make it a little questionable.)
I feel bad for Alicent, but mostly in a ‘you’re a pushover’ type way, similar to how I felt about Sansa in that she was so obedient it was detrimental.
I was curious about that as well. Is it weird that I like their chemistry? I know it’s a creepy pairing but I can’t help but enjoy their hot headed Targaryen dynamic.

Not at all. I think it has a lot to do with the actors in the roles. Matt Smith is really awesome as Daemon and the young woman playing Rhaenarya is just fantastic

I’m glad to see Matt Smith in something that’s actually good (so far).
Guy’s a talented actor but has had the worst luck with genre movies. Terminator Genisys, a whole cut role from Rise of Skywalker where he played a young Palpatine, and then Moribus. Yeesh.

Matt Smith was amazing in The Crown. I never saw him in Dr. Who but he’s in that as well. But I mainly know him from The Crown. He plays a good bad boy. The memes that have come from this episode alone are hilarious.

From an RP perspective I love how they actually showed taking off the armor, and ho much of a pain that is.

He was excellent in “Last Night In Soho”, which was probably my favorite newish horror movie.
It starts out as like this love letter to 60s London and then gradually just let’s the horror of reality seep in as the rose colored glasses come off and the sleezy, violent, explotative nature of how it actually was is laid bare.

Did you end up seeing Bullet Train? was is any good?
Yes! I completely forgot he was in The Crown, he was a GREAT Prince Phillip in that.

He was a scoundrel but that made me like him more. The casting on that show is so good.

I think that’s why I love him so much as Daemon, he’s so brash and chaotic. The way he just completely kamikaze’d in to kill Crabfeeder solely so he didn’t need his brother’s aide was so spiteful it gave me life.

I’ve not. Though I’ve been meaning to try to catch 3,000 Years Of Longing. Providing it’s still in theaters.
Like 4 times this year I’ve pushed off seeing a movie to next week only to find it only playing at a venue miles away. Unless it’s a big blockbuster or gets a word of mouth groundswell like Everything, Everywhere All At Once they give it like a week before shoving it out.

Sadly no, I work for a U.S. company so I get a day in lieu instead, which is kinda nice regardless. Except then I have to automatically use them up for U.S. Holidays and then have an extremely random bunch of days off… it’s odd. Are you getting a holiday?
