I don’t think they have. It’s kinda hard to tell because I’m playing both factions and either way you’re killing quite a bit of Thalassian elves.
But I do feel I’d notice an undead on the Blue team and I don’t think that’s happened yet.
There was of course the mercenary system. But I’m really not a fan of having my racials swapped. I’m still not used to needing food or water as usually I just chow down on the nearest dead body.
Interesting okay, if that’s the case I’ll probably need to queue red-side. All of my PvP experiences have been queuing as Horde and the Alliance victory music really doesn’t hit the same for nostalgia reasons.
There do be a staggering amount of Thalassian elves these days. Considered rolling Dark Iron when I recently race changed for that reason, but the limited customization options deterred me. I will probably eventually try out a fiery little angry cultist someday though.
I’m honestly baffled by the people who say the Alliance can’t PvP. I’ve been crushing it on my Worgen and Dwarf.
One thing I’m surprised Worgen players don’t do more is go with armor that looks radically different in Worgen form. Because I’ve certainly sensed the moment of panic from the enemy healer when I come riding up on a horse only to charge them as that worgen who’s been hounding them all match.
After maining Priest for 3 expansions I’m also pretty good at killing them.
TBH I’ve not PvP’d as Alliance very much, but my limited experience is that it’s pretty much the same except the maps are flipped (obviously). It seems like Alliance dominates certain hours on some battlegroups and Horde dominates other hours, so I think it’s just a matter of perspective as to when you’re queueing.
I’m not sure if it’s changed but the last time I checked the overall victory ratio isn’t THAT different, it’s just that the queue times for Horde are much shorter because Horde players in general I find much more bloodthirsty for PvP gameplay than Alliance. The vibe is a bit different.
Yeah chat erupting into “FOR THE HORDE!” is a pretty common sight after a skin of your teeth victory. But I never see For The Alliance.
As for ques at least in the 20-40 bracket they seem pretty identical to me. Probably a different story at max level but I won’t find out this expansion.
I think they are referring to the ‘two forms’ ability where you can swap in and out of Worgen form based on your combat status. I’m sure a human looks fairly innocuous approaching you but when you enter combat it automatically shifts you to a Worgen which has a cool appearance, especially in PvP combat. Certain armor also can look quite different on a Worgen VS Human models, so picking shoulders (for example) that appear massive on a Worgen I’m sure adds to this effect.
What I wish you could do is tie appearances to specs. I wouldnt hold my breath for that feature and it’d be completely useless for my non casters.
But it’d be neat if I could have this toon’s hair and eye color change depending on spec. Black / Red for Shadow, Brown / Purple for Disc and White / White for Holy.
Probably do something similar for my Lock and Mage. I like the idea of the magic they’re channeling affecting their appearance.
YES. I’ve wanted this for Blood Elves (and now Void Elves) for a while, since their eyes have always been reflective of nearby magic sources. Although the last time I checked that is somewhat possible for at least Blood Elves, Forsaken and Worgen now if you just visit the barber shop upon spec change. I can see it being useful in some ways for non-casters if transmog was tied to it.
Any improvements to the variety they can give with appearances is always welcome in my book. Hoping to get black eyes for Dark Iron and Void Elves someday.
Not bad, ty! Currently preparing my alt army for my favourite holiday Trial of Style ( which should totally be more often and have more themes and rewards )
Transmog is the main reason why I still play this game and never run out of things to do.
It’s like playing with dress- up dolls as a little girl, but better because not all of them are Barbies.
That moment when you realize your toons are better dressed than you will ever be… Although, I do have some top tier witchery garb that I wish some of my toons could have.
Not having bones poke out of my Forsaken’s robes was probably my favourite part of the big appearance update. Just 'cause ya girl dead, doesn’t mean she doesn’t know how to sew! Especially considering the Forsaken probably need to have that skill for other reasons like re-attaching limbs and fixing their favourite neighborhood aboms.
I do wish they would have added the option to have a straighter back or posture, but I’m hoping they add that with the new addition of the body type feature coming in DF.
the ability to let my dang hair down without running to find a barber
got this great bun hairstyle they added in the gnome revamp a ways back, I love it, would also love to be able to let my stupid hair down in the field!
in conclusion,
loadout slots for barber appearances plz thx ilu bye
A lot of people who aren’t original blizzard devs. Continual improvements to appearance have done a lot to hem in my wandering to other MMOs. Now, if we can just get housing…
If we got housing…omg that would be so much fun. It’s the one feature that I miss from playing Star Wars Galaxies back in the day. I would spend days decorating my mansion style house
I’d be very careful about that. I’ve never seen a MMO do it well. It’s always pretty janky. Guild Halls I could maybe see if you put them on islands or some other place not already a part of the overworld.
But I also do sorta love the current guild hall system. Which is go find someplace and claim it. If anything I’d appreciate an uptick of abandoned forts and mage towers.
SWTOR has a pretty good house feature. Apparently not as good as FF14’s, but FF14’s implementation of housing also borders on predatory so you know, pros and cons.
It and its PvP starfighter mode are both outstanding and almost the only reason I ever sub these days.
Vanilla is still the most explorable part of the game. There’s a lot to like about the newer maps, but even in the best of them, there’s a touch too much theme park design about the world sometimes.
