Story Forum Community Lounge (Part 1)

I believe the General Lounge is at 4.3k~ posts.

It deserves it, the monster that it is. I still haven’t had a chance to complete my Azure armor or do Behemoth yet, though I need to.

Aw, that sounds like a wonderful surprise. Story really does transcend medium~:)

Yeah, Kirin is a wondrous beast. Such an atmospheric, cinematic fight too, especially in World. But she’s also real. freakin. annoying. I always enjoy our spars, but I’d be lying if I said I never made any inappropriate glue factory jokes in the heat of battle…

That’s actually what’s gotten me back into the game recently! A formerly Japan-exclusive real-life event set finally available for us? Couldn’t miss it >:D

The only thing I know about the kirin I learned from this video.

That was… really freakin’ funny! Especially the True Charge GS bit, I felt that in my soul. Though I’m the Monster Hunter veteran between us, my SO still mastered that spacing much faster than I did, so I felt very silly when I couldn’t get it down >.< Guess I was too used to the old 3DS moveset and controls, ehehe.

Oh, also also, I finally got around to some more questing in BFA, and hey! Still having a lot of fun. While I do feel guilty for going so slowly, it’s kind of nice consuming fun little morsels bit by bit~ :two_hearts:

For any fans of Fate/Zero, even if you don’t know anything else about the rest of the Fate franchise, I absolutely recommend Lord El-Melloi II’s Case Files. It’s about Waver (Rider’s Master from Zero) 10 years later, who is now a teacher at the Clock Tower (Fate’s equivalent of Hogwarts) as he and his students solve mysteries. The pilot episode is on Crunchyroll now, and the series is coming in July. It’s good stuff.

:confetti_ball:Happy New Years guys! :tada:

I thought I’d like to share a weird little album I found the other day! They’re two very creepy songs that remind of something you’d hear out of a Lovecraftian film, and of coarse about Old God stuff as well! If only the Old Gods made you feel just as anxious as this video does though!

How was everyone’s year so far? Got any thoughts on how your life has been, or maybe the world, OR just thoughts on WoW you’d like to end off the year with?

Lovecraftian Horror seems divided into 3 types: Cosmic Horror(The Color Out of Space), Witch Cults(anything involving the Outer Gods) and Deep Sea Monstrosities that don’t seem threatening(anything involving the Great Old Ones).

The last one is favored by WoW while the second one only appears in Drustvar… No sightings of the first one AKA the true Cosmic Horror though.

Of course we have no possible current candidates for a Colour Out of Space aside from the Forsaken Blight which is an Ancient Plague that existed in Lordaeron…

Anyone else want the Blight to turn out to be a Cosmic Horror ala the Colour Out of Space that doesn’t talk?

None of you told me the Void Elves summon a void creature into Vol’dun during the Vol’dun assault and I’m upset at all of you.

Please discover what other wonders are found in Incursions please! I’m quite curious!

Wow, that’s very interesting! I love the part at 16:58 when the high pitched chirp kicks in. It’s that sound you hear at the base of your neck in silent darknesses. I can think of a few SCP articles this would be lovely background noise for! Thanks for sharing `:)

(If you’re unaware of SCP, please know that it’s a horror fiction website and not for the faint of heart! Wouldn’t want anyone feeling frightened or uncomfortable because of a frivolous thing I mentioned. That said, if you do like horror and some deep lore, check it out!)

Maybe the Void Lords will fit that mold? They were certainly horrible enough for Sargeras to go bananas. My personal hope is that they’re a detached, uncaring sort of threat rather than outright malicious. A mustache twirling Void Lord would be a real let down! Luckily, they never did that with Ol’ Sargy (who I’m sure will be back someday), nor the Old Gods. Just with most of their minions xD

Yes absolutely! Not sure if it’s very likely, but it would be so very interesting ^.^

Anyway, happy new year, y’all! I was reflecting on the highlights of my year, and meeting and speaking with you guys was near the top of my list. Haven’t had a very eventful year with my illness raging on, and even solo projects were difficult to commit to throughout the year. Experience the end of Legion with everyone here was so, so fun though! Knowing I had somewhere to do a happy dance when I conquered another mage tower warmed my heart.

So a very fond thank you to everyone here, and everyone who was here but no longer is. I’m so glad that this fantasy world, with all its wonder, silliness, and flaws, was able to bring us together. Wonder who it’ll introduce me to next? I’m excited to find out~

Then someone(who remembers their Twitter Password unlike me) should tweet this to Blizzard!

Remember The Colour Out of Space infested a village with a Plague then fled to Space with a small fragment left behind causing a Blight. The same could work for the Ancient Plague that Forsaken revived as their Blight…

We could have the Blight turn into a sentient cloud in a cutscene massacring the Horde troops everywhere thus requiring an investigation before discovering that this happened with the Ancient Plague as well before it fled to the Great Dark Beyond.

Once this discovery is known the Blight can be shown fleeing into the Great Dark Beyond sealing it’s place as a mysterious alien life form with unknown origins and motivation.

Happy new year to you too!

(you should check your mail on Hanashi)

Just checked and not seeing anything at the moment. Hope I didn’t miss a message from you! Servers are going down for now, but I’ll check again tomorrow. Thanks for the heads up! Hanashi’s basically my flower crowned forum alt at this point, so unfortunately I rarely log onto her lately.

I just sent it as I posted so it probably won’t show up until later.

Ohh gotcha! Yeah there is that hour delay, I forgot. Well I’m looking forward to it! Mail is always fun <3

So guys, I made my very first RP character (this one :stuck_out_tongue:) and reached max level just yesterday. Now I want to learn how to RP. I installed TRP and wrote a background story but I’m kinda confused what to do next. Is there a good guide somewhere that teaches the basics? I seem to can’t find it.

It’s a bit confusing, but the Story Forum isn’t actually the forum for the roleplaying side of things. For that, you want to hit up the World’s End Tavern forum, over here:

They should help point you to guides on the old forums that will get you started, and help you out with any questions you might have.

But hey, thanks for stopping in here, too! I hope you enjoy your roleplaying experience. Azeroth’s such a nice place to immerse yourself in. Here’s to lots of new experiences and interesting people : )

Oh, I completely forgot that forum exists and can be used to ask guidance! Thanks for reminding me. (I’m Dawnsong btw )

On top of what Hanashi said about the RP forum I’d also check out the server forums. They’re pretty good about helping newbies find their way in game with guild suggestions, RP hotspots, and general advice.
