They said the same thing about Ahsoka when she debuted with that horrible Clones Wars movie (thanks Lucas for choosing 3-4 pilot like episodes to be a feature film with no room to polish up the animations for that kind of standard).
There was a thread on MMO-champion about the Bad Batch and some people there didnât like it that Fennac was going toe to toe with Cad Bane. Acting like she is this uber lady boss mary sue. Even though her first appearance production wise has her dying and was saved by a hidden Boba Fett at the time.
Actual sexists have no sense of logic. They will move the goalposts etc when it suits them.

Wrath of the Lich King is just based not even loosely on Baldurâs Gate is it not? Metzen had all kinds of influences from the games he was playing at the time of starting Warcraft. He also seems to be a huge DnD lore fan from the 80âs.

Baldurs Gate had and still has a huge impact on how most fantasy games are made. Itâs one of those that defines the genre

I also think the DKâs story is loosly based on the Legacy of Kain Franchise. Right down to the Old God controlling the undead vampires who used to be paladins.

I will happily admit that my worst Mass Effect experience is still really good.
Despite being A Gamer, Iâm actually pretty fussy about what I play and enjoy (has to have a character creator, a creative element whether through RPG or otherwise, I have to like the characters, gameplay difficult enough to be enjoyable, strong story, and if it happens to be a cinematic action RPG even better), so when I find something I actually enjoy playing, I latch on with all four limbs and possibly also my teeth.
âŚso itâs mostly XCOM, WOW and the Bioware titles minus Anthem.
Been taking a stab at Greedfall lately and I quite like it.

I do like it when a game âcopiesâ another game intentionally. Not because the other game is popular or the developers are just lazy but it fits the story and tone. Jedi Fallen order is an example of this. So many people dismissed the game as being another âDark souls cloneâ even though that was the point. What better way to immerse the audience into an environment where you are being hunted down, have to relearn how to use the force while trying to beat the Empire to the McGuffin.
It does anger me when people see something and label it as crap simply because it looks like or feels like something else.
There are a lot of media that are actual examples of this and sadly they are the majority but there are some gems out there where it makes sense.
Who did you romance in DAI I feel like that tells me everything I need to know about a person.

Mass Effect itâs Garrus. Also didnât romance anyone in MEA. Iâm asexual, though I am also a sucker for a love story and Iâll usually try most of them out with the right protagonist eventually.

Sadly in this age of âtime played metricsâ and ârelease game now, fix it up laterâ a lot of these will be written off as lazy cheap clones that are trying to cash in on the success of the original. It has happened to film and TV shows and it is happening to games as well.
And sadly it can happen to genre defining games. It is happening to WoW. It happened to Command and Conquer with C&C 4
Some companies just do a cheap remaster so they can release the same game on a different generation of console every single time a new one gets released. Looking at you Take Two / Rockstar and GTA 5.
