Store transmog and why It's a problem

INB4 Yeah, well WoW has a sub! Because no one does their research.

Well the difference between WOW and most other MMO’s (like ESO) is that they are free to play. This game isn’t free to play, and now peoples money that they spend on a subscription based game every month, Blizzard will be using some of those resources to create in game cosmetics to charge you even more money.

We have had Xmogs in the shop for as long as I can remember. Or have you forgotten about the fire horns or the shadow crown.

Imagine being a Actiblizz shareholder and they tell you they won’t grow with the times because “we don’t like making money”

Why are people complaining about completely optional cosmetic items? Seriously? You need to let it go. Blizzard-Activision is a company. The main goal of a company is to make as much money as possible. Them selling cosmetic items on their store, that have no game impact, is a non issue.

Called it.

I CALLED IT.

FFXIV has a sub, and a much much MUCH larger cash shop.

And there…it…is

Fun is subjective.

Making gold is fun for many people.

Objective achieved.

Ok. So you have evidence this item was intended to be obtained through activities that you personally find fun?

And 10 years ago when mog items were on the store…why didn’t those count?

Am I good or what?

Because that’s what they do. Ignore the fact that there are larger problems in the world right now to be upset about. But nope, gotta get angry about something stupid.

No point in arguing with Yes Men. To each their own. We all know how a fool and his money are soon parted anyways.

I also know about people who put their nose where it doesn’t belong may lose their nose.

I also pay someone to mow my lawn. Such a sucker

I know right? You’re such a sheep. :upside_down_face:

(I kid)

You’d rather spend $20 on in-game items instead of playing the game and earning them through fun in-game methods? Let me guess “Yeah I’d rather them take all the tier gear and make a transmog form of it in the cash shop cause I don’t want to raid and they should make PvP transmogs available for $20 as well cause I don’t like to PvP”

Except I should be able to earn these items in-game through engaing and fun means… so it’s bad.

Imagine trying to justify that grinding gold is fun. It’s literally a chore regardless of how good you are at it or not.

Care to prove that claim? Or are you just going to make up everything you say? I can say it’s just purely for greed and to make more money if you want to say that.

Yes, that is my opinion. That’s the whole purpose of this threads. I’m honestly surprised your reading and comprehension skills are improving…

That too.

You can’t simplify this issue to “Spending money is fun, therefore charging money for everything in the world is justified because people have fun doing it!”
If you are honestly trying to argue that point, you’re just being obtuse at this point…

Imagine that, people upset that they’re being charged for stuff they should be able to obtain through fun means in a game they play and have fun playing…wow.

This. WoW isn’t reliable enough to produce fun and engaging content I’m willing to gamble 6 months of my time playing.

No, apparently to a few people in the forums, grinding gold is FUN! And people LOVE to grind for gold…LOL

Don’t try and use logic or reasoning with these people. I had someone literally try and say that people have more fun spending money to buy stuff than playing the game.

That would be too logical for these people to comprehend.

Oh you haven’t been played for one at all… but congratulation’s on your "I can’t prove I’m right on your opinion so I’m just going to call you a troll and pretend I ‘won’ "

Spoken like a true forum groveler.

And people have a right to disagree and voice their disdain for such practices. Blizzard used to be a leader in the gaming industry as one of the best who didn’t do skeezy things like this. They’ve slowly lost their way, which is why the original creators had to start a new company.

Putting the OP on ignore, yet still talking in THEIR thread. Imagine being that childish…

Yes, they added three crowns and everyone freaked out. They said it was a test and that they weren’t going to add more because everyone got mad about it.

I don’t get it “Will they add more? Yes. But will they add more? No, not at all!”

Releasing one thing for an expansion release is different than constantly adding items to the cash shop as a cash grab.

Not remotely the same.

People are free to voice their opinions, stop trying to suppress and argue with them that they can’t or shouldn’t. It’s completely childish.

Imagine trying to justify Blizzard becoming a worse company from the gold pedestal it used to stand on in the industry “because other companies do it too!”

Yikes.

We had three added ONE time 10 years ago…people freaked out, they said they wouldn’t add more. Hence why people are freaking out now. It’s not good for the game.

That’s your opinion, one many people disagree with.

HAVING gold is fun for people, making it isn’t. It’s considered a chore.
If making gold was fun, Blizzard would be out of buisness.

No, that’s my opinion that they should be. That’s the whole purpose of this post.

You can disagree and say “I think we should have to spend money to buy everything in the game!” all you want.

They added 3 items 10 years ago. People freaked out and they said it was a test and they were likely not going to add anymore. Public disdain and outrage stopped them from making more items for 10 years…guess how many mounts they made in that time because people said “Well IT’S JUST MOUNTS” and allowed them to do that?

People say It’s not a slippery slope, but it clearly is. It started with mounts and pets, people were mad but justified “fine” now they’re moving onto transmog and armor? That’s not fine for a lot of people, myself included.

You can literally say that about anything ANYone complains about, like seriously? Grow up.

Just out of curiosity, how much time and effort did it take to itemize this response?

My scroll wheel went into OT trying to read it.

A while, but the forums are actually really nice and make it incredibly easy to do. The time consuming part was trying to make people realize how ridiculous they’re being.

Once again, making gold for some people is definitely fun.

So this mog item sets a precedent that was set 10 years ago, that was a slippery slope that hasn’t really lead to anything?
