But… that’s the truth though.

I’m normally skeptical of these kind of claims, but that thing does bear a striking resemblance to the mana wyrms flying around the belf in the TBC cinematic and the armor is undeniably blood elven… if it were slotted in as the last quest reward in the heritage armor questline it wouldn’t be strange at all.

Doesn’t matter much to me since I’ll be getting it anyway (had 6-month sub since forever) but I think the theory has credence.

But the real question is who breads their butter?

Ooh is this a riddle…

Peer pressure?

On Azeroth, outside of Blood Elf regions of Quel’Thalas, there are only small few areas where Mana Wyrms can be found, Suramar and Aszuna.

Yeah, this is the thing that kind of annoys me. Standalone shop stuff is whatever, but they actually do just rip things out of the game and put them in for 25 bucks.

Example being the Skyreaver, which should’ve been a 1% droprate from Tovra in Grimrail (last boss, she rides one, and none of the wod dungeons have a mount drop), but they just threw it in the shop instead because $$

There’s a few WoD mounts that seem like they would have come from in game sources. The Sky Reaver from Grimrail, the Grinning Reaver from Laughing Skulls rep, the Fey Dragon from some Shadowmoon Draeni.

Yep. Rep mount being wolf tint number 6 was awful.

No, I got all of those with money.

Ok and what’s your point?

You said they seem like they would have come from in-game sources, but they don’t, you can just buy them.

Idk about the mount originally being an in game reward, however you’d have to be an idiot to say it’s not clearly designed for blood elves

It’s wearing their armor, and it’s a mana wyrm

I also think it’s name “Nether Gorged” could be a nod to TBC, but that’s just me

I don’t agree they were meant to be available in game…

Cash shop mounts are designed for money, and so will always be superior to anything you will ever earn in-game from a design perspective. Even if it looks like it belongs with X or Y transmog.

You want an in game reward? You better believe you’re getting reskin #5 OP, if you want the goods its time to fork over that cash.

Well, I dunno about that theory. If that were true wouldn’t it have matched the heritage armour colours more? Rather than being mostly blue with a bit of gold, and without the wings that are the signature of Blood Elf flying mounts?

Things designed to tempt people to pay money are generally designed for specifically that purpose: temptation. I prefer to think that, personally.

Admittedly I havent even bothered doing the questline yet because the reward is fairly ordinary.

It’s blue because it’s a giant version of the Mana Wyrm from the TBC cinematic, and it’s wearing Blood Elf armor.

Most evil thing I’ve ever read. lolol

How do you know this?

It’s a dragon head on a wind serpent body with Belf armor. That doesn’t mean it was made to be the in game reward. It just means they designed it that way.

So you’re just going to continue to make stuff up?

It’s a Mana Wyrm…

You might hate the person but blizzard loves them. Bet these store mounts do more for the longevity of the game than raids do.
