In a full priced game WITH a monthly subscription fee, they charge extra for mounts that should be IN the game. I can’t even blame Blizzard anymore, it’s the people who buy the mounts who are at fault.
I would say that people don’t mind store mounts nearly as much(They still mind them though.) When there are plenty of good mounts that have been added around when the shop mount was added, and if people are happy with the game overall. Selling cash shop mounts when the game itself is in a bad place, AND at least one faction has gone around not getting anything but horses yet… bad planning, especially after already releasing one cash shop mount.
I didn’t log into WoW to play digital stock broker or shuffle the assets around in the AH. I don’t hate on those who do, but it still doesn’t detract from my initial point.
The hyena is tiny and makes taller races drag their feet on the ground like a grownup on a tricycle. Pterrodox drags their wings when walking (like the fugly drakes from Wrath). Don’t even mention riding on a blood sucking tick…ewww.
Sure, you can have the horsey of you got collectors edition too. Horde also got a raptor for that one so it wasn’t the same as any of their rep mounts.
So you’re saying if that fox was a vendor mount or dropped in a raid or dungeon BFA would be a fantastic xpac? If you have enough gold 2 WoW tokens will pay for it.
I made Alliance so I could get Darnassus kitty mounts. I ride whatever I like on both faction. It’s okay to not have everything on one side. It’s almost homogenized now. There’s no much separation of faction specific mounts nowadays.
The sheer number of people who think “its free cuz you can get it with tokens” or “cash shop items don’t take any resources away from development” is actually pretty alarming. It’s no wonder the world is in such a sorry state, and I weep for the future. Basic reasoning or economic skills seem to be quite uncommon these days.
This mount was designed by the art team. Say what you want about anything else, the game is gorgeous right now. Art team is killing it. These aren’t the people who took away masterloot, or screwed over the Hivemind people, or X or Y or Z or whatever your chip on your shoulder is.
But we don’t know how Blizzard structures art content that is added for the shop.
It’s quite an assumption to think it’s taking away from future content resources if we aren’t even aware how their art and design teams are structured internally. Are these the same employees that handle the main crux of the game? If so, are they given these projects after other content is finished?
It’s being overly simplistic to say it’s taking away from the game. Could it be that some here are sour over not being able to afford it or don’t like that others can? There are mounts already in the game for achievements or putting your time in.
Blizzard seems to have tapped into a successful revenue stream by offering a cosmetic. It increases profits, and that benefits all of us in the end by keeping this game chugging along.
