The cash shop has been since the burning crusade expansion. A very simple solution is to not partake, but you’re a progressive minded person and as such, you can’t stand that people are partaking in something that you dislike, so you’ll do everything to stop it from happening.
I really want it too, it looks so good!
no. blizzard doesnt deserve any more of my money.
it is cute, i will say that.
Not yet, but soon.
What does the fox say?
Thinking about it, going to see what if any sales Blizzard has for Christmas this year first. although as of now I can’t really think if any mounts in the store I want and don’t have. Most of them are hideous.
Because that makes good business sense, for their continued success. Especially with what games like Fortnite and GTA V have made.
It could be FAR, FAR worse; Blizzard is actually pretty conservative, with the cash “Mount/Pet” shop. Other games have a lot more of the stuff, because Wow still has a monthly “premium” sub price point.
ESO has a voluntary “sub”(also around 15 bucks), which gets you 1500 (or whatever) of their “cash shop” item per month(Crowns?) So their cash shop is a lot more active, with all kinds of pets, mounts and even mogs on it. They know with, or without, that sub people are going to buying that stuff.
Sometimes I wish Wow had even MORE; You could buy ALL the mounts on the shop, without feeling that it makes much of a dent in that “400 mounts” number. It is why I have not bothered buying many, since I’d still be so far off. By and large, you are mostly collecting for mount achievements.
No but I am down by 230k gold.
I’m 236k gold poorer, and I regret nothing.
If I stopped playing WoW tomorrow, I’ve already given myself enough amusement using the /mountspecial to justify the price I paid for the mount. That thing is just too adorable.
For me, the decision to buy that mount comes down to, “Do I think it’s worth 330k in gold?” I’ve spent more than that for ones that weren’t as nice, so that answer is easily, “Yes.”

How does a cosmetic item effect your wow experience directly? Are mounts p2w?
They dislike it, and like most progressives, can’t stand to know something exists that others enjoy that they do not. It’s a sickness.
I bought it. The coloring and everything fits Void Elves perfectly and I was looking for a good Void Elf flying mount. The Dark Phoenix just felt a bit too comical for me. Even better, if High Elves ever get added, the Vulpine Familiar’s colors suit them pretty well too.
I think it’s adorable! I never got a chance to get Spellwing last expansion, so the fox should help fill that void. <3
(Two cents on current sub-discussion: Cosmetic items available for real money that are of the exact same quality as cosmetic items we receive in game are fine.)
Participating in the game store encourages Blizzard to divert assets away from making the game
Blizzard mount art team =/= Blizzard gameplay development team.
Blizzard mount art team =/= Blizzard gameplay development team.
I think what he’s trying to say is that, people buying store mounts will encourage Activision to further make cool mounts exclusive to shop instead of putting it in-game.
Nothing to do with art team development team all that jazz. I think he has a point.
I did buy the purple flying cat during some sales. Might wait for that again for this mount.
It’s too cute for my tastes, I want scary, meanacing mounts to ride into battle.
Yes, but not for myself. While I wanted to buy it for myself there was a guildie who wanted it more and could not afford it at the time. So I got it for them as a gift because they have been such a wonderful friend
It’s an amazing looking mount. I wish they would put that kind of effort into the ones you can earn in BFA. F’ng money grubbers…they have always been about making money and get it they are a business…but this one just smells like dog poop. Blizz is out of touch…
I won’t ever support store mounts and the ones I have have been gifts I didn’t ask for as I don’t believe in supporting a buisness model like that. That said people acting like it’s the end of the world don’t forget you can simply buy them with in game gold if you farm enough.
