Why would you even want to play Classic, if you want all the stuff that’s in Retail?
Here’s the deal: In Classic, the player adjusts to the game. In Retail, the game adjusts to you. If you want the game to smooth the rough edges, and make leveling and grouping as effortless as possible, play Retail.
Of course, no other player can make you. So you’re really speaking to Blizzard.

Exactly. I will adjust my game to my play style with add ons, just as the game intended us to.
Then you aren’t adjusting to the game. You aren’t even letting the game adjust to you. You are adjusting the game to yourself. Fine. Knock your own socks off.
Social interaction happened in many places in vanilla, not all of them in groups. However, one of the parts of interacting in a group was the organization of the group…
Also, the reason most of retail is so easy is because of how groups are formed. When you have no clue who is coming, you have to base it on the lowest common denominator. It’s a circular feedback loop. It’s easy because it doesn’t require communication, which allows for less communication and so on…
It also removes the ability to check people based on reputation which avoids most of the problems I mentioned.

I DGAF what addons anyone uses. I’m gona play my game the way I wana play it. If that means I install Gatherer so my map looks pretty with flowers everywhere so be it.
That only works when you can face roll everything, otherwise you either talk or fail. A chat parser won’t change that.
How so? You still have to respond to the invite requests. Why would you change that because you read the request in the add on instead of the chat window? And before you say auto-invite, that does not exist in the ClassicLFG. The video posted was a retail version of the add on in a retail game.

And if this addon is so limited, why does it even exist? All you’re doing is creating a self contained chat box that doesn’t exist in game. You are dividing the population because you’re apparently too lazy to read normal chat?
lfg group honestly isn’t even a huge deal. The slippery slope argument also makes no sense in that a third party add-on dev cant introduce porting and personal loot etc. All it does is automate the trade chat spamming and sending invites etc. The amount of complaining on these forums is unreal.
If it’s so inconsequential, you shouldn’t care if it doesn’t exist…
This is the same argument as if there is an I WIN button in wow… where if you just press it, the Mob dies…

This is a mmo, not a 1 player rpg where you toggle in cheat codes and difficulties… we are all competing and collaborating with each other on an agreed even and fair playing field…
Some people think certain things… like third party programs… give an unfair advantage and take away mechanics of the game.
Just like an I WIN button(Taken to an extreme case)… you must draw the line somewhere, your line might be more liberal than others… but peoples complaints are valid.
This add on evolved from Call to Arms made in Vanilla. It was developed because it was too easy to miss a group forming on a full server with city chat scrolling by so fast.
This nonsense about gatekeeping and I should be able to play how I want is so lame. I have the feeling the people saying this are the same ones that cried about adding a tutorial mode to Sekiro because it’s all about them and how they want to play instead of how the devs designed the game and intended people to play.
I just want to play warrior with stances and enjoy the game one of my friends remembers fondly. I don’t want to be waiting in LFG chat for 2 hours and I definitely don’t want people whispering me out of the blue to tank for them. Everyone is blowing the addons out of proportion and once classic goes live you’ll see y’all just scared for nothing. People will still be waiting a long time to find groups just like you want. Just not 2 hours anymore
As a tank and healer combo you won’t need this addon. Just say we need 3 dps, even in local and you have your group filled in a matter of minutes lol.
We dont want to watch classic turn into retail. If Blizz allows LFG tool to be used, then it’s only a matter of time before they allow other game altering addons to be used.
If that happens then I am done. Retail is bad for a lot of reasons, an over abundance of addons is one of them.
