Oh, I thought you were talking about character models, which cannot be changed to Retail models.
Not what I was referring to… but if a person goes out of the way to download a custom patch to give themselves updated character models… who cares? not what I would do because I like the old models… but how is it effecting YOUR gameplay if they have that on? It’s not.
There is a difference between players moving the game towards retail and Blizzard doing it. If players want quality of life addons to enhance their experience and design it themselves that is fair game.
“slippery slope” refers to a theoretical that may not come true. We all watched it happen in the original game once - this is not theoretical.
Summoning stones and teleports do harm community much more than an auto grouper, but having to build a reputation of being a good player in order to get invited to groups encourages good, social, polite play. Auto grouping removes some of that.
I’ll be using the same adding I used back in Vanilla.
My issue is LFG. It would be one thing if it just hit chat every “x minutes”. But it can communicate with others using the add on. That creates an entirely new mode of LFG. I just think that’s garbage and it will split the community.
We already have layering, spell batching, cross realm play etc etc in the game. It’s not Vanilla and it never will be. People should adjust their frame of mind if they want to maximize their enjoyment.
I agree, but Auto-grouping is bad for the game, but I just don’t see it being a thing. I know I would never think to join an auto invite group, and would use the UI to talk to people to see how much time they have, spec they are playing and if they know the instance etc.
Players are adding LFG on their own and will LFR too if the addon doesn’t already enable that. It’s just human nature. We haven’t even started the cries for class nerfs yet which will fill these forums like the Great Flood.
If people want to use websites for things like that (Destiny did and it worked), I’m fine with it.
I’m just not for any of these awkward things people want, which deplete the purpose of Classic. As Gandiva said, it just makes it seem like they want retail transmogged to look like Classic.
I started vanilla about a month after launch, solo and clueless. I missed out on almost all of the dungeon quests until I could solo them and never got to raid. This time around, I want to see it all, but I have a limited amount of play time and I don’t want to spend it spamming city chat. ClassicLFG is really nothing more than a chat utility.
Hubby and I as tank/healer will be using this add on to help us organize 5 mans in order to meet and play with as many people as possible so we can make friends and find a guild to call home. ClassicLFG is a tool that I will use to improve my social experience, not replace it.
Indeed, the vast majority of QoL in game happend because ppl asked for it. I’ll be honest here, the 1st time i got a grp auto formed and ported into a dungeon, i liked it a lot. To only years later realize what it did to the game.
LFG add on might look harmless now but we saw this movie already.
