Stop trying to remove melee

Their melee weapons would be considered side-arms tho. Their primary weapons are bows.

Do a quick google image search for Sylvannas. She’s holding a bow in almost every picture. Make sure your safe-search is on btw. lol

I found 2 Dark Rangers. 1 with a sword and the other was unarmed. BUT she was standing next to a bunch of arrows so I’m saying they’re hers.

We tied.

And that’s why I said a new “brother” class could be created.

Shared theme, different class. Just like priests and paladins, locks and DH.

Hunters focus on ranged combat.

Barbarian focus on melee.

Are you a Bepple zealot too ? I’ll have to ignore ya as well. Hunter use both melee and ranged, not exclusive to one. Just happen to have both but they dont equip both for game mechanic reasons.

Are you gonna accuse every person who has opinions opposing of yours (at least regarding RSV/MSV) of this?

Because it’s not gonna benefit the discussion.

People are allowed to have their opinions.

No, theres a difference between opinion and transforming everything you see to fit your ideals only.

I’m a little confused. I read this thread as a debate, and she brought up an interesting idea that rarely gets mentioned (if ever). The “Barbarian” class thing.

What am I missing? How is she “transforming everything [to conform to her] ideals only?”

also Azagorod: “You can’t transform everything you see to fit your ideals only!”

I’m a fan, yes.

You’re hurting my feelings man. I thought we really connected :disappointed_relieved:

Those game mechanic reasons is what I’m talking about. You’re either melee or ranged. There is no true hybrid. No real compromise.

That’s why I think it would be awesome if they spun off melee hunters into their own class. They could really double-down on the melee fantasy then.

You should follow N’zoth instead.

Theres still hope for you.

The current msv is the closest one, its both ranged and melee. Would the game still allow it, they’d be equipping both.

Also… theres an easy 12 + hunters in the legion hall showing up as a melee style. Not counting the smith / skinners and merchants.

It’s not that. Yes, BM can move while maintaining steady DPS, but the same cannot be said of MM.

Sorry, the Legion version was a First Attempt In Learning. The artifact ability that was channeled, in melee, on a timer, and dependent on how many stacks of Mongoose Bite you had was utter and complete dumpster fire because you could have a perfect setup and it’d be broken the second the mob moved out of range…which was often. And the explosive bomb that was part of your rotation with the targeting circle? There’s a reason that anyone who knew how to macro targeted it on themselves - it was an inconvenient button click.

Flanking strike as a baseline ability was nice, though.

He/she tends to do this yes.

Pretty ironic coming from you.

Every other post you put up follows the above.

And regarding the RSV/MSV debate, calling everyone who disagrees with you a zealot isn’t doing you any favors.

Honestly nothing hurts this discussion more than needless antagonism. Not pointing any fingers, just a reminder.

I dont want melee to go. I rather enjoy it, and Ill also be the first to admit I didnt start really playing my hunter till Survival went melee. That being said, I do think the folks that loved RSV do deserve at least something in return for the spec that was lost. Do I think it should return at the expense of MSV? No, and it shouldn’t have to.

Why do we need to scrap something to bring something in? Isn’t that what started this in the first place? If MSV was slated to be removed in SL, and RSV to return in its place, it would suck.

Would it suck for less people than removing RSV did? Probably, but that doesnt make it hunky dory. If you ask me I would be 100% down if they added a 4th spec and made THAT one the melee spec, and made Survival ranged.

Make the 4th spec double down on the aspects and employing what little nature magic we can. Waywatcher, or something of that nature.

Well said!
To all of the above.

So if BM and RSV could already maintain steady dps in melee range, what exactly is the point of this “melee option” ??

Maybe some people like the aesthetic of using a melee weapon and getting into melee range like so many hunters in history. I personally do. I love using a spear and getting into someone’s face with my pet. It’s what finally, after a dozen years, got me into the hunter class.

That’s what got me into the class as well! There’s so much I love about the aesthetic. The harpooning, the bombs, poison arrows, alternating between melee and ranged…it’s such a fun mix. I’ve left my warrior and rogue behind and switched to a hunter main because this is the most fun I’ve ever had questing.

I hope you guys understand that sentiments like these only cement the opinions of people that say melee Survival is inherently anti-Hunter. When so many of the people who stand up for the spec and its place in the class are people who self-admittedly had zero interest in the class before Legion, came from melee classes, and, to put it frankly, have minimal investment in the class even after they start playing it, that only confirms our belief that melee Survival demonstrates melee players “colonising” the class and taking a piece of it for themselves at the expense of people who were actually enthusiastic about Hunters.

MSV has a smoother and much more interactive play style with pet than even BM.

Pet isn’t use strictly as a decoy while you global things to death. You gotta get in there with your pet and do work.

Sweet, now I’m a Hunter and a Colonist!

Wait, am I a ranged or melee Colonist? I don’t want to pick the wrong side. From what I hear, the debates over on the Colonist board can get a little heated.

I suggest they make a new class and put Cowboy spec rogues and melee bm hunters in it? Call if the Mountain Man class.
