I guess they can’t listen to everyone, because we have contradictory demands.
They have to make a decision, and they did.

What about us? We lost.
and that will only be an issue during the first month or so of ICC without the buff. Once the stacking buff takes effect that “issue” will be negated. One thing we’ve learned in TBCC is that the average player skill is miles above what is needed for the encounter, you could turn all the gear in the game into greens and people would still clear ICC on week 1.
40 less spell power is one thing, but I think it will come down to hit rating or haste rating breakpoints. You might find that a pure hit rating trinket from Naxx doesn’t get phased out because the TOC pieces no longer have enough hit rating to eventually phase out the need for the pure stat trinket.
It’ll be interesting how BIS Lists evolve with this change.
This is why they need to take a poll so they can figure out what the majority wants. If 10% of the population wants the game to be changed to be harder, then is that really fair to the 90%?
Is that not tyranny of the minority?
You can have up to 3 other people in a 2s team. The moment you wish to do rated arena with a 4th person, time to disband your team, lose all your personal rating and in all likelihood end up incurring an 80g charter tax. This happened to me countless times throughout tbc and it sucked.
In a democracy? yes.
They may find that the 10% players spend more money.
They don’t have to… they could, but it’s not an obligation. It’s their game, they design it the way they see fit, that’s how it works. As long as people pay for it, there is no reason to push the panic button and start polling the population for their decision.
…how? We all pay a sub.
Unless you’re suggesting Blizzard has their hands in RMT.
Server transfers, players who play both retail and classic, those same players buying stuff from cash shop on retail.
We don’t know what metrics they use or to whom they lend an ear.
There’s already “tiers” of player, those who buy things like the dark portal pass extreme deluxe edition and then go on to sub 6 months in advance… then there’s the rest of us.
I can’t imagine a world where I’d need more than 3 others on my 2s team. Usually done it with 3 or less and it sufficed.
I imagine it sucked if you wanted to queue with whomever, but I can’t speak from the experience of that inconvenience. That being said, it was in Wrath, so that’s how it should be. We can’t throw out objective standards for convenience.
I prefer not steamrolling every fight week 1 yeah
The problem is, you’re now fighting to revert every single deviation that blizzard has put into this game. That isn’t a battle you have even the remotest chance of winning.
It’s also a weird decision to take money into account when it comes to a recreation of the game.
You’re going to steamroll it anyway. It’s just going to take longer per fight. It’s going to be just as boring, but again - take longer.
Bad changes.
Let me know if the fights are the same come prepatch when SWP gets a 30% hp reduction
On the whole of the scale? No. On this matter of “We’re going to change gear now too”? I might. “Winning and forcing them to do X” isn’t the only point either though; I’m not one to settle on my convictions be it in a relatively irrelevant game or otherwise.
Then I propose in addition to ilvl squishing, we also remove crit and %damage snapshotting and drain soul executing. Nerf DK’s while we are at it as their absurdly high base damage is making naxx too easy.
Once the door to changing gear/classes is open vs tuning bosses, where does it end?
I beg to differ with regards to ulduar hardmodes and lich king heroic bosses, especially pre-stacking buff. Wrath is when the concept of “actually difficult content” began to take off.
Sure, it’s only probably at the level of, say, Extreme modes or 1st turn savage fights in FF14, but that at least requires a brain, which automatically excludes about 75% of players.
No blizzard dont doooooo it…
The people that were good at making games are gone from the company
We just want you to 1 to 1 this thing as much as you possibly can!!!
