I loved the FF/OOC change… We were shown a bit of love, had it ripped from our paws, and then thrown out into the streets. We’ve been given nothing literally the whole expansion and have made it work.
Now we get to look forward to a 20% dodge nerf next phase.
DPS Warriors can get a buff beyond their glyph and legendary when all plate tanks lose half their total avoidance. Fair is fair.
Uhhh, this still happens… Warriors were never THE top in original wrath ICC, just close. They still are close.
So, really you are just mad that rets are good enough to get gear now?
Pretty much any buff to fury would leave them the uncontested best DPS by noticeable margins, which wouldn’t be better balanced. The current sims have the best DPS all surprisingly close together.
It was my impression that rets we’re getting the first shadowmourne anyways. It’s not about giving it to the highest DPS, it’s about giving it to where it will have the most improvement. And shadowmourne synergizes better with rets toolkit.
But I just play tank and don’t really look into sims or raid comp or whatever
Yeah, but we have fury warriors and rets that have been in the guild since vanilla and are there most raid nights. So both are going to get one, just which one gets it first, ya know?
People still seem to have it in their heads that classes that can do many things besides damage should not be allowed to do damage
This sort of mindset is why we had specs in Vanilla that were actually trolling to play, and why others only existed to elevate the people doing the real job. You really want to go back to the days where the only reason to bring a Druid to a raid was for Innervate? Where the only thing Paladins did was reapply their buffs?
Bring the player, not the class. Being in the upper middle in an era where even the lowest dps is at least still viable is fine. You aren’t a world first raider, play what you enjoy and stop letting parses ruin your fun. It’s a video game
Same was with Valanyr.
There’ve been tons of Rdruids and Rshamans who got it first before Hpalas.
So whether or not SM will go to Fwarr or Ret purely depends on the guild’s relationship with that person. Not raw sim data. Some guilds it will be rets. Others it will be Fwars
I agree with most of what you said, some people on these forums (mostly comprised of ret who think we want them nerfed and people with ptsd about vanilla who enjoy seeing warriors down) don’t care about real arguments, they assume that warriors are selfish and that any argument we make is driven by ill intent and don’t take the words at face value - ad hominem at its finest.
That said, there is one thing I disagree with you on: I would never run with a guild that gave out a legendary due to a spreadsheet or somesuch thing. It should always go to the person who is both eligible for it (obviously) and contributes the most (and I don’t mean dps, I mean like loyalty and commitment).
I will say that there are A LOT of guilds that go off of raw sim data for their loot decisions on legendaries, so warriors in those guilds were likely banking on rets struggling to even justify a raid slot so that they would be the obvious choice. Heavens forbid that there’s another equally viable option so that those guilds start to look at other things like longevity, helpfulness, attitude, etc… (All the less tangible data points)
Or we just recognize this rant as the whining child in you thats mad he doesnt have the shiniest new toy. Warriors didnt get nerfed so your only whining about someone else getting a buff that you wanted. Stop with the playground jealousy and move on.
I feel OP since MM Hunters are in the same position but worst, both are high end specs that requires very high armor penetration and high level gear to be competitive.
I’d imagine some try-hard wanna be who want to squeeze every single dps they can.
But most decent guilds look at the player and not the item.
If you have a Ret pal in your guild since TBC P1, whom you love, great player, sub orange parse, and then you have a Fwarr who joined 2 months ago, and even if he has better parse, he is unlikely to get SM in that new guild. No one knows him. No one trusts him and so on.
Giving a 272 cloak to a newbie is easier than 10 weeks of shards farm.
And what about Valanyr? Yes, most were paladins indeed, but also tons of other classes got it first, because they were good and old-guild members.
Raw sim data is a good thing to look at ofc, but seniority will always win.
No, our Rets are inconsistent so I’m getting the first one regardless. What annoys me are the people like you, pretending you don’t get it. You do, you just only care that you’ve had your prio bumped by an unnecessary buff.
