The speed of acquisition is what balances out the difficulty (or lack thereof) of the content.
People who do harder content will have a much higher average item level than people who only do world quests. Especially since Benthic gear can’t WF/TF above 430.
No. Not at all. Taking a long time to do something does not equal “I deserve this high of an ilvl”. There’s a reason M+ is more difficult with a timer.
So yoy)u feel you were ignored despite the fact I pointed out the issue regarding time investment and how I am opposed to your interpretation of it?
Or is it that you were dissatisfied with my answer? I am leaning to the latter because as we continue to converse, you only further degenerate in hope you act towards myself and others.
You are projecting your own behavior on myself. You ignored the fact that mythic dungeons and raiding give better gear than world quests.
You ignored the fact that those who raid and.mythic key their djngeons gear up faster as well.
You ignore that their are trinkets, mounts, and other gear that is objectively better than what can be obtained in wq.
Your entire arguments are as follows.
“It isnt as hard.”
Okay, and that is why it does not give out the best gear.
“Speed isnt an issue.”
Except that it is an issue. Naxxramas was immensely enjoyable, but noone wanted to do it with a reset on the horizon. Speed is important because if those people spends months.
You feel it is mindless, that is fine. I do not agree but I cannot argue against feelings. I made the mistake of believing we could discuss it without you getting upset. Seeing as this is not the case, i will agree to disagree and allow you the last word.
I feel that you guys who keep replying to me are missing a huge point of this whole topic.
Over the many years of WoW, they have made moves to appease the low skill crowd who refuses to learn the game. It has caused a lot of problems with the game that EVERYONE is upset about (example: GCD changes).
There needs to be a reason to do challenging content. I have low achievements in my opinion, and I need to progress them. I enjoy doing challenging content, and I hope it isn’t easy getting more achievements because I enjoy the challenge.
The problem we are seeing is that the low skill crowd with no achievements in challenging content cannot EVER be happy with what they get. Appealing to these players is not good for the game on the max level end…
If they wanted to appease this crowd, they should make leveling and lower level content more fun.
Yes. Totally. It matters. You can’t just leave it out because you don’t like it. Same with looking at average item level instead of narrowing the argument to individual pieces of gear.
If any of you people who are against this change ever bothered to at least once look at the bigger picture, your arguments would vanish like mist in sunlight. But instead of doing that, you’re just going to do your best to keep reframing the argument as narrowly as possible.
It’s a lost cause because you people are clearly not interested in constructive discussion of this topic. I’m going to wash my hands of this nonsense.
That change had nothing whatsoever to do with the “low skill crowd” and everything to do with Blizzard’s poor attempts at class design. They gave classes a bunch of cooldowns that gave them a huge boost in power. Instead of redesigning those classes, they just hammered the GCD change in and hoped that would fix everything.
And now I’m really out of here, I hope the people who stick around can keep stomaching this deluge of misinformation.
That’s just it. I am very interested in this topic because I too want to see this game reward challenging content more, and to have this game return to some glory days with class balance…
If you want that… Why make it harder for those who have earned say 1800 in PVP to feel like they did ANYTHING AT ALL?!
WQs should reward a lower ilvl for catch up alts and nothing further.
This is where I say it’s completely pointless In rationalizing to pvper and raiders that wish to just basicially jump into them. They are indeed in a rash to gear for themselves and don’t really care about the rest of the player base.
… that’s endgame content tho. The rest of the playerbase is important but to think that you could gear from pet battles or World Quests is a stretch… sadly one that’s becoming very real apparently because of the moves Blizzard makes that are absolutely destroying the game…
You keep bringing up average ilevel but again, you’re missing the point that being you shouldn’t even have a chance to get items of the same ilevel as someone who is doing more difficult content, that’s rubbish.
Time != Difficulty, shouldn’t reward the same results. Here’s a rl example:
Does someone who lifts 3 sets of 10 using 1 pound dumbbells everyday vs someone who lifts 3 sets of 10 using 50 pound dumbbells twice/three times a week to get the same results just because he does it everyday at an easier weight?
Obviously, you’re not going to get the same results in the end, no matter how long you lift those 1 pound dumbbells you’re not challenging yourself to build the muscle like the gentleman doing the 50 pounders. Are you going to complain irl that you should be awarded the same muscle gain just because you put in time?
Hypothetically, if the guy doing 50 pounds of dumbbells could get the same results doing the 1 pounders everyday, why would he even bother challenging himself? Bragging points? No, he wouldn’t do it, he would take the easiest route to get the same results and that is the problem with WQs giving the same loot as Heroic Raids/M10+/Rival rated PvP.
In reality, that’s how it should be in WoW, you don’t want to do lif the 50 pound weights (more difficult content) and just want to do the easier exercise (WQs) everyday, that’s fine but don’t expect results just because you put a lot of time into an easy activity.
But yet,it doesn’t matter to a pvper or a raider because you get first choice in gear before people doing Wq 's.
No,it people like you are destroying the game for everyone. Do you wish to standardize this method of play on everyone? The gear is less important to most but it is only important for those that wish to try to transition to raiding.
SURE WISH BLIZZARD DIDN’T PRUNE CLASSES TO HELP PEOPLE WHO CAN’T KEEP TRACK OF BUTTONS. That’s what I call ruining the game for the people invested in it and engaging in challenging content. It goes both ways. The fact that people not doing challenging content could see that people wanting more challenging things in the game are ruining the game… smdh
how are you hurt over an MMORPG’s forums discussion about the game? These sidetracking buzzword comments are not helping the conversation at hand at all.
