Stop throwing gear around and rewarding mindless play

Again:

Where did I lie? Where was I dishonest? There’s no dishonesty. You earn that gear by doing time gated WQs, that’s all there is to it. It doesn’t matter how rare or common the pearls are, they come from time gated WQs.

That is definitely one of the reasons (Class design) it is bad I agree however the reward system is also prime suspect in why people are leaving the game.

You may consider that this a solution to why many people are leaving. The frost tokens in Wotlk helped me get into raids. Perhaps these changes are to remedy factors of why players leave?

Navy seals get no more pay than any other similarly ranked military personnel.

They do some of the most important, difficult, demanding, highly skilled work in the world and get no more pay than 9 to 5 pencil-pushing counterparts.

I’m guessing they do it for love - of their job, of their country, of their team-mates - rather than for any material benefit.

Many people do great things which benefit others more than themselves, for intangible benefits. As they say, you can’t take it with you, so you might as well live for love, doing the things you love, and be able to look back on your life with a smile when you’re too old to work any longer, knowing you lived your dreams.

People leave for a lot of reasons, and the reasons tend to vary per person when it comes to importance. The flying threads in WoD made the mistake of blaming the loss on solely that, and not saying it didn’t effect numbers you’d have to be insane in thinking that people didn’t also leave because a lack of content. Because people might mistakenly put more importance on issues then is due doesnt mean those issues still dont matter. I have my own opinions on flying being a mistake, but I won’t doubt that due to bad zone design and an uninteresting yet monotonous world people have become reliant on it and would leave over it being gone. I haven’t pvped seriously since MoP, but I know a lot of people who haven’t been happy with it since then and though I think PvP is more of a side thing I knowledge that people play just FOR it. Theres not one reason people leave, and yes sometimes people may make the mistake of claiming that their issue is the only (or I guess insinuate for some) but that doesn’t lessen their points at all.

Oh well that changes everything, you don’t care about loot so neither should anyone else. And if they do care about loot, you’ll tell them this game isn’t for them.

With bleeding subs anything is possible, currently they’ll going into giving more free gear, and if that turns out to be even worse, which I expect it to be, they’ll see that it’s wrong direction to go in.

Should be interesting to see which lane they panicingly turn the wheel into, if nothing else.

By ignoring that it will very likely take 3-4 weeks to get even one Benthic item to 430. While people who do heroic raids can do that plus get gear from raiding. They will be rewarded far more than the person who solely does world quests. The system is working perfectly fine as long as you look at the whole picture instead of a tiny fraction of the whole.

Hopefully not mobile one.

I can see them doing a mobile pet game… hell as someone in marketing I’d consider them stupid not too, especially when it doesn’t really effect the game.

It’s still time-gated WQs… there is no difficulty change between doing a WQ once and doing it 100 times over weeks. I wasn’t dishonest, not at all you still get the gear from WQs which still require little difficulty which was my point entirely that being:

WQs should not reward the same ilevel gear as Heroic Raids/M10+/Rival Ranked PvP matches.

And next year or 2 you will be getting greens better then those elites.

That’s you attempting to straw man me. I didn’t say, “I don’t care about loot” I said, “gear is a secondary concern for me”. Those statements don’t mean the same thing. Thus you argument doesn’t deserve a response. It’s fallacious.

Doubtful. I expect the bulk of players complaining about loot will end up transitioning to Classic when it comes out this summer. At least until they get tired of doing 40 man raids and getting a pitiful amount of loot per boss. Then they’ll just quit. But for the ones that actually want long ilvl boss farms who enjoy Classic, awesome, staying in the past is what they want, more power to them. They can have fun there. But for those who don’t simply yearn for the systems of yesteryear, the ones that gear grind to lord it over the plebs, well, those people can sod off.

And then Retail will continue to develop as it has, catering to the majority like it’s been for years now just without all the crying salty egos that can’t cope with those changes.

Saying “it’s time gated” is like saying a marathon is a long run. It’s technically true but it leaves out a lot of information.

The people doing harder content will virtually always have a higher average item level compared to people who only do world quests. Something else you keep leaving out so you can keep arguing.

Look at the bigger picture for once instead of teensy tiny pieces of the picture.

You’re pretending like that’s only source, no it’s not. You’ll have:
Emissary
Weekly quest
Benthic gear
Overwhelming odds
Occasional titanforge

With each patch or expansion they add more free loot around, and when it all piles up, you not only surpass normal raid, but gear near heroic raid gear-wise, without doing anything even remotely challenging.

You claim not to care about gear, but you come here arguing for more free gear, like your life depends on it.

There’s no difficulty change between WQs and Time-Gated WQs, only time required which is again, not skillful at all.

It doesn’t matter if they do, the less difficult content shouldn’t even have a chance to reward the same ilevel that’s ridiculous. It shouldn’t be about how fast you can get the gear, it should be about rewarding players with better gear for more difficult content not mindless time gates because that’s why they need the gear: to do even more difficult content.

That means more mythic raiders right?

That is true and since we are in a transition period people are not in the game as of now are waiting for the next patch to arrive or are preparing for it. Most guild have already finished the raid content so you wouldn’t see them.

Only ones playing right now are gearing up their alts.

But i do understand Wpvp is imbalance( even though people wanted this system) and they do need a pvp vendor which Blizzard so cleverly made an excuse for.

And?

That means people who do that content and normal will be better geared than people who don’t do normal.
Or that means people that do that content and heroic will be better geared than people who do that content and normal.
Or that means that people that do that content and mythic will be better geared than people do that content and heroic.

Which is exactly the same situation we have right now. And it’s one Blizzard likes. They are perfectly fine with the raiders getting gear first, taking advantage of it for a few months, and the rest of the playerbase catching up towards the end of the tier through time gated rewards.

What are you even talking about? Mythic players got their own thing, it’s normal and heroic raiders who get dunked on by these changes. Anyone who does mid-tier content gets sidelined.

But the OP’s only concern is with Benthic gear. And the rest of that stuff is even more random as far as what you’ll get. At least Benthic gear will have predetermined stats.

It’s more about being dedicated to keep doing them. And the extreme time-gating is what balances out the ease of content. You’re acting like the ease of content is the only deciding factor that could ever possibly be considered.

It does matter. The people doing harder content will be rewarded for doing that content. And if people aren’t doing that harder content, they will more quickly run into a wall where they have to rely on luck to keep going. What you want is for that wall to occur the second a player hits 120.
