Stop throwing gear around and rewarding mindless play

How dare you want to make more for greater effort! You just want to lord over your co worker who does less with your superior wage!

No it’s not. We are different people.

A better analogy would be to say that you and I both paid $75 to get into the theme park. You got to ride 3 roller coasters all day, and I got to ride on 17 different rides.

Who got the best value for their money? Depends on your criteria. How much did you enjoy your roller coasters, and do you value quantity over quality?

Giving heroic level loot for doing WQ’s is probably the dumbest thing they could possibly do (I get it has to be upgraded but still; Apparently it takes 2ish weeks to max out 1 piece based on pearl accumulation). Way to invalidate normal and heroic raiding.

It’s probably going to be around 445 for heroic and 460 for mythic, or following the Uldir to BoD increase, 430 for heroic and 445 for mythic.

Jesus, is vendor gear really gonna reward 430 gear? Seems super wonky.

I think the new gear is a better direction than what we’ve got because it’s more a progression system than other things.

The problem for me is they’re just gonna add it without removing other stuff. So even with titanforged, wqs giving insane ilvl, warfronts giving insane ilvl, world bosses they feel the need to add more Idk about that. I would remove a couple things from the equation.

Add to that that people have been asking for pvp/pve vendors with conquest/badges for a while this is more an insult to those than anything.

Sounds like something people who run that content need to ask yourselves.

Ion is not the most honest person in the room these days. I believe it was just an excuse to justify not caring about pvp players. Vendors are needed for all gear IMHO.

Are you doing Heroic or Mythic content simply for the gear, love? Than continue to do so. What does it matter than similar gear can be found elsewhere?

This argument has no true merit, as you are simply obfuscating the true issue; you want gear to feel special, so that you as a player can feel special. Either the gear is merely a reward for engaging in higher content, or the gear itself has no special meaning at all and you engage because you enjoy the activity.

So you don’t see a problem in invalidating rewards for content? Because i sure do.

This right here made me question Ion’s intelligence. We have systems in place for that, you can return the items. Yeah people are dumb sometimes but we’re not so stupid that we’re running around like “Oh I need crit and haste on my gear, better by that piece that has mastery and versatility.”

The good gear will always be behind mythic and heroic raiding. You’re never going to find a piece that’s better outside of it. You can have a piece TF up to mythic levels but at the same time a mythic item can TF even higher than that one piece.

What are the roller coasters supposed to represent in your terrible example? Different things you can do in game?

No, but when there is a reward attached to something it should feel rewarding. When you invalidate the rewards for 2 whole raid difficulties, that feels bad.

I don’t understand the logic that another person getting gear somehow invalidates your accomplishment. You still have your gear.

See, your issue isn’t gear. It’s that you want to feel superior.

Horde get darkshore first next patch so l will enjoy my 450 piece the first week.

No, my issue is there isn’t a reward for normal or heroic raiding anymore.

The only person who is invalidating that gear is you, love. By comparing your rewards to someone else’s you have lead yourself into a never-ending trap of self actualization that will leave you angry and frustrated. You have become your own worst enemy.

Do not seek to judge others or compare yourself to anyone but yourself. Do the content you enjoy, and so shall your happiness follow.

WQ are my endgame, but I seem to have missed the ilvl 430 one. Too bad, that would have been sweet.

Oh, OP…

That ship has sailed, long ago…

(I don’t care for it either, don’t kill the messenger)

I’m not. I’m comparing world quest gear to raid gear. Why would the community at large want to participate in challenging content when they can just do world quests for 30 mins and get the same reward?

No reward huh? You might want to rethink that, I am certain there is still a reward.
