Trolls aren’t in it for the likes, they just want the disruption that follows.
Bait posts don’t really offer anything so they don’t get the likes.
A great suggestion or idea however, will get blown up with likes and in turn is an indicator of community sentiment.
We get to see what others like too, and that my friend is very important in this game.

Except when people start accusing the person posting it of leading a alt-like campaign with zero factual evidence.
I have a gif response in a thread that has over 240 likes. 5 times the amount of the OP.
Trolls do it for the replies.
Brown nosers and shills do it for the likes.
