Anyone who has been here long enough can put two and two together, I would think?
The ppl with multiple accounts who make their lame threads go big and the false likes towards it or even to an “individual’s” opinion to make it sway and appear as though they have the “superior” opinion or w/e adjective you want to use.
That won’t work. It’s a curious thing. If it’s truly a bait post it shouldn’t be getting a lot of likes. If it’s getting a lot of likes and it’s something you disagree with, I wouldn’t necessarily assume it’s a bait post. Sometimes, people do have legitimate hetrodox opinions that we may not agree with and the fact that we disagree doesn’t make it a bait post.
My understanding of trolls is that they are far more motivated by the replies they get rather than something like likes. They aren’t motivated by anything logical like perceived social status. They get their pleasure from baiting you into a bad faith conversation that they have no personal investment in. They just want to make you upset and get your skin, and they don’t need likes to do that.
