Stop rewarding the 1%

I agree. We are.

I’d honestly love it if they added in more awesome stuff for lorehunters, rp’ers, pet battlers, explorers, or mystery/puzzle lovers. What if in wondering out in the world you find a rando quest, and that quest leads you to another until eventually you end up at a world boss with a few tricks up its sleaves. You can use things to make it easier to fight and even upgrade its loot chance to get an awesome mount.

In Legion and BfA they did those cool puzzles you had to solve for a cool new mount as well.

Less than .5% of active players worldwide have earned this season’s glad mount

Wow, the old “change a word and quote it” trick, gj Tyson.

Learn to play the game and earn the rewards instead of crying like a spoiled child.

Is this including alts?

This is per account

The website doesn’t have data on the feat of strength, so the mount is the next best indicator

That’s because a majority of the player base don’t pvp.

Also the glad mount isn’t the only thing we are talking about.

Lol. Someone can’t get Duelist unless the season is inflated. Get good.

it’s also limited to 990k people.

You simply repeated the status quo. This is not helpful in a discussion regarding the merits of maintaining the status quo vs. discarding it. Just because we have traditionally rewarded the completion of the hardest content with the best rewards does not mean that such a dynamic is the best dynamic. What are we rewarding? Competition? Elitism? Are those virtues? Should they be rewarded more richly than other qualities we may wish to cultivate in gamers?

How about a system that somehow awards imagination by allowing you to design custom schematics and use ingenuity to come up with and implement new ideas?

What about tasks that aren’t difficult but which take long periods of time to complete?

Patience and willpower are two virtues I would like to see rewarded more richly than competitiveness and elitism. People who can grind out Exalted on mobs alone are more worthy of respect than the most accomplished raider in my eyes, because they had only themselves to lean on and they persevered despite having no one there to prop them up. They kept going. They endured. They battled their doubts and conquered their boredom. They searched within and found discipline. These people did something. Teamwork, meanwhile, is the least impressive skill demonstrated at the talent show.

If you feel that people should continue to receive the best rewards for completing the hardest content, I would ask that you explain why you feel that way. What is it about challenging content that makes completing it an act more worthy of reward than content which takes a long period of diligent attention to complete but is not particularly difficult?

Yeah buddy I know

You disputed that 1% of players engage in that type of content

The numbers don’t support that dispute

Missionary is right

Like 1% of players ever regularly pvp past duelist

So you’re just okay with being factually wrong because of your expectations? Lol what am I even reading, the world’s gone crazy. When did it become okay to be factually incorrect?

You clearly cannot pacify insanity. I would instead ignore you so that you can take your money elsewhere. Hopefully a therapist because you have an extremely bad mentality towards life.

Would it be safe to assume that most if not all glads have their api data publically available? If so, you can assume that the value given on DoA is a good estimate for how many glad mounts exist this season. If it’s 1.24% of the registered 990k accounted on DoA, then it’s very likely that only 0.1% of players have the glad mount.

I’m sure this math will go straight over the skulls of the people arguing about the “top 1%” on this thread.

That’s solely in the context of its little custom leaderboard

It doesn’t limit its collection of meta data up to 990k accounts, the site would be useless

Where’s it getting the numbers for the total glads achieved? The first link you gave us says “of accounts registed on DoA”. That has to be the amount registered on the site, which would be equal to what I linked.

Why are you using this as a “good” example of casual content? The introduction of exalted rep caches in Legion was one of the worst things they introduced to the game in recent years. “Oh, you spent all that time grinding to get Exalted rep for a mount? Too bad! Now you have to grind even MORE rep to get a box and then hope the RNG gods are on your side!”

And that doesn’t even get into all the BS they’ve pulled with casual content in Shadowlands, with all the timegating and currencies upon currencies.

When 42 took office. Facts no longer matter. Reality was always subjective, but now it’s positively ripped in half. :upside_down_face:

Sure you can. Group homes specialize in pacifying insanity. There’s a long list of medications and techniques employed by professionals to pacify insanity. What are you even talking about?

So why haven’t you? The ignore button can be found by viewing my forum profile and changing my status. When it asks how long to ignore me, type in “Forever” and the option will appear.

Doesn’t work. Most of my remaining friends from college are therapists (my BA is in Psychology) and my consciousness has been as well-mined as it’s going to get. The best I can hope for is a DMT epiphany now and then. Everything else has been over-examined and sorted away where it belongs. I had a good bit to work through. In the end, I decided that

An arguably more reliable site would be

https://www.pvpleaderboard.com/statistics/all/all/2400

There’s roughly sub 10k characters above 2400

This site does include alts so it’s safe to assume that the number of players above 2400 is significantly less

So yeah anyone who thinks over 1% of the playerbase engages in this type of content is being silly

But where you and I disagree is seeing that as a reason to justify retconning old assets

I agree that it sucks to see certain sets go to waste, but most if not all elite sets in the game are just reskins

So the whole argument of “let us at least have something similar” falls flat because something similar is accessible

Like I said in your other thread

There’s better ways to innovate and diversify PvP rewards than bringing back previous ones

Not going to argue about the merit of time sensitive rewards because I perceive those as a good thing and it seems like you don’t

Ok I’m out

They don’t pacify them by giving in to them  what you’re describing is the hardcore opposite. Regardless most group homes actually don’t work like that. Most actually try and get people to see a psychiatrist and psychologist to help the person.

I will after this. I have to argue dumb points of view first though because I don’t want Blizzard listening to dumb ideas.

They do. When they don’t it’s usually because the person isn’t wanting help. If you go with an open mind.

Anyways, I’m out. Time to argue with someone else who is hopefully more upset about facts being important.
