Stop removing portals

show me how this adds literally an hour to your playtime to do transmog farming.

Your alternate travel strategy still requires a portal though?

no it really doesn’t. go ahead and explain it to me. you are talking about adding 2 minutes tops.
2 minutes tops to get across pandaland.
2 minutes tops to get to CoT.
thats not an hour.

uh…no…YOU SAY it doesnt affect the majority.
Wait till its all said and done and give it a couple weeks.
We have yet to see if the majority start screaming yet or not.
The portals in Dalaran /legion are still there currently.
Give it time.

how about replying to a blue post that isnt arguing about playtime math?

and yet i’m pointing out that they are crying about 2 minutes. think about that.
people are crying because they lost 2 minutes of time in a game that 2 minutes IS LITERALLY NOTHING

IT IS an hour when your game ISNT about getting a quest but is about FARMING all over the known world.
Believe it or not we dont all play like you do.

Yeesh. That question is kinda concerning

If you do 2 min each time and do 30 quests in different areas or farming that is an hour. 2 Min is conservative if you use a flight master across the continent instead of a portal. Simple math…

Convenience is never optional. It’s not optional and when people argue that its a factual misnomer. People will always take the path of least resistance. If you gave people a big “Red Button” to give them all the gear and mounts in the game for free, everyone would push it. Remember WoD when no one saw anyone else? Remember how DEAD it was? You rarely saw another living soul. Was that “optional”? That was because of the convenience of the Garrison. Sure, you could go collect herbs, ore and craft in empty places with no players around, but you might as well stay in your garrison because there was no one in Shadowmoon Valley anyways.

how about looking at the fact that most people don’t even blink about 2 minutes playtime.
my /played is LITERALLY years. to cry about 2 minutes is hilarious.

I’m curious how the/any portal’s existence negatively impacts you in a measurable, empirical way. For those that use them, there is a metric to measure their removal: additional time.

It’s up for each individual to determine what threshold of “additional time” robs them of convenience or is “no big deal.” But it is a measurable difference. So I’m genuinely interested to know what your measurable loss is with retaining the portals.

yeah…gee…who do those NEW players think they are wanting to see all that OLD content that is actually fun and interesting compared to the crap that is being vomited up today.

It took me upwards of 500 kills to get Ultraxion to drop Experiment 12-b.

In this new world, instead of teleporting to CoT, a player farming dragon soul for the mount would need to teleport to Uldum or Silithus from either SW/ORG or Boralus/Dazar Alor. 3 minutes of flight (assuming all your characters have 280/310), times 500 runs would add more than 20 hours of travel time to the process.

no. it wouldn’t even be an hour then. go to caverns. hit up all the raids there. 2 extra minutes.
hearth and go to pandaland, hit up all your farms there. 2 extra minutes.
hearth and go to northrend. 2 extra minutes.

your looking at ill even throw you a bone and 10 extra minutes tops.

he was talking about xmog farming for one, and for two, if your doing quests and farming in that style, you’re already being so wildly ineffective you should look at how you are farming or questing and revise it to be more efficient.

Seems like anytime someone disagrees with you, you label them a troll. Is anyone who disagrees with your viewpoint really a troll in your eyes?

can you guys bring this into your DM’s? this is gettin really intimate on a thread that yall need to be off of

I just paid for another month I’m going to finish pathfinder one and collect enough gold for a token and take a long break from the game. There are a lot of other games out there for me to explore.
