Stop pulling for the tank, even in “LOL content.”

The only enforcement needed with this rule is for the ones that treat others badly to be treated badly themselves or, if they get on the back of someone for being inconsiderate of them, they get chewed out for not being considerate of others.

In shore, the only enforcement really needed for this particular rule is in the hands of the players.

You tank it, you spank it.

Wait…

I literally said multiple times how it’s inconvenient to the group. Instead of everything being gathered to be AoE’d down you have random stuff all over, then someone got multiple debuffs and went down because of dispel CD.

It made the run take longer, which if they’re pulling extra seems to be the exact opposite what they wanted to accomplish…

I feel like it depends here. Sometimes a DPS pulls without monitoring my cooldowns and screws me.

However, sometimes a DPS pulls because all their CDs are up and I missed that. They grab more into the group and nuke them down. I especially like this when the DPS has group wide CC they use after pulling.

Basically I don’t mind DPS pulling if they also CC, interrupt, and help with monitoring mob % for me. It’s a group project to get the key done.

Yes, and that was my fault on my OP not stating that sometimes it’s ok. But the particular cases I am talking about it’s not.

The dps sees me tanking and never sipping below 90% so they assume we should have more, they aren’t realizing that I can handle 4-5 packs but the rest of the group cannot. No matter how good the healer is the debuffs and AoE damage incoming adds up and people start going down.

Pulled for a tank the other day.

They only pulled 2 guards after BRH 3rd boss.

the mage was telling you soemthing. go more. go further. go beyond waht you are doing at this moment.

hypothetically, what if the healer did it instead of the mage? do you think the healer is telling you something?

I don’t think the healer would have done it because he knows his dispel CD. The mage did not, this dps died and the run took longer than it would have otherwise.

What was the mage telling me, that he wants to spend more time with us?

shhhh thats not the hypothetical.
in this hypothetical.
the healer did.
what is the healer telling you ( hint. the intent ) when they are pulling for you?

^ thats what i interpret the mage is saying.

If the healer does it they’re telling me to speed up, and as long as there’s no aggro issues I would oblige. However I, Ike most tanks, have my frames/ui set up to see curses, etc and party cooldowns.

I will say if you, and I don’t mean you I mean the hypothetical people, don’t know your parts cooldowns or abilities just go along for the ride.

This can especially be true if the tank is pulling based on mobs that need either CC or interrupted to keep them from killing the party. Big pulls and such are fine, if everyone is all the ball with what else is needed, but big pulls just for the sake of high numbers tend to lead to wipes and wasted time.

all of what you said is very on point and i cant even refute the mage was clearly hindering the group by not paying attention to the minute details.
that being said, the feedback given without saying anything is to speed this ride up.
that feedback may even wipe the group. at which that point someone has to tell the dumb mage whos lacking int to be more observant.

He didn’t even blame me, he blamed our healer and I explained it wasn’t the healers fault.

The biggest issue I have with it is when the newly pulled pack isn’t properly handled. Maybe it’s a lack of knowledge of the content? Like don’t pull something that we know we need to control because your button got big and shiny. Lol

The magus adds in rise are a wonderful example.

Some tanks just need a little help.
Not all of them know the pulls.

Some tanks know the pulls, and know when to break them up, some DPS are idiots that think every key level needs or group can handle the MDI pulls no matter what.

Been tanking TW on my bear today. Some DPS - even some healers - pulled stuff, but so what? I was full-on W from boss-to-boss, never went back to pick stuff up, but it hardly seemed to matter. All the bad guys died; none of the party members did. For “LOL content”, only control freaks care who pulls. The trinity was established for content where it matters.

There’s a difference between Timewalking and even low keys. A +5 or 10 key can wipe you or at least take out some dpsers if you get too much unavoidable damage coming in.

Meanwhile if it didn’t require queues you could solo time walking

OP said “even in “LOL content.””

At this point there should be proficiency test before you’re allowed to do queued group content. My time is more valuable to me than waiting on you to learn to play.
