Stop making world boss fights

They are always unplayable and not enjoyable.

My instant casts turn into a 3 second hail mary pass.

Just stop wasting time and resources on things that just obviously are not working!

I’m not mad, you tried but its time to give up.

I only support this message because whatever zone the world boss is in lags.
Remove the lag and I’ll no longer support this message

I have yet to encounter one that is “unplayable” but I do question why they even bother with this dated concept. I suppose out of habit to remain coherent with the legacy of PVE?

You THINK you want them to not be there any more, but if you really did you wouldn’t be doing them at all, so it wouldn’t bother you however it is now.

Its basically just there to help undergeared or slow-to-progress characters.

I basically am only doing this one for the rep at this point.
So if they removed the concept entirely, you’d likely just have less gear available to you.

I agree, true and real comment here.

The world boss that came out in 9.1 is likely my least favorite of them all. Maybe I’m just super impatient this patch, but this boss truly feels like it won’t die. I haven’t timed it myself, but it seems like it’s an 7-8 minute fight.

The random LoS due to the lines, but the game doesn’t tell you you’re LoS… I don’t know. It’s an easy boss, of course. And I don’t ever expect anything “great” out of a world boss. They put it right next to another rare that people pull in. The lag is pretty rough.

I don’t know. Just seems like this world boss is a mess.

It’s a terrible experience at this point. You almost never get drops, and when you do, it’s usually way too late to be relevant to your gearing process.

The current one is in the middle of nowhere in a zone you cant fly in and it took over 6 minutes at 1000ms or more to kill it this week. Just a terrible time all around time.

Find any post anywhere on the forums that says ‘There’s nothing to do in the world’, world bosses are something to do :man_shrugging:

I wish they’d make World Bosses something that pops up and scares everybody instead of just :oot Pinatas.

There’s something exciting about a rare monster appearing in the world for heroes to go hunt, but there’s something extremely boring about the way WoW just places them in front of players in one spot.

This is not that version of WoW anymore. At all.

Agree.

Either they need a technical solution so it doesn’t effect the integrity of the rest of the zone or they need to remove them.

Really didn’t notice the issue until 8.3, seems like the BfA world bosses didn’t tank the entire zone like they do now.

Yeaaaahh I already know what players would say to this lol:

‘Blizzard, why have you done this? So we don’t know when a boss will be up, or where he will be at and we just have to live in the game now? I guess if you want to progress then you have to give up all hope for an outside life. This isn’t even fair, how can people be there to do the content if they don’t know when the content is going to be available?’

It’s great when it makes the entire zone unplayable for the amount of time it’s engaged by the multiple raid groups trying to kill it. Sorry if you were trying to do anything else in the zone during that time, but you’re probably already dead anyway. You’ll find out when the game catches up to you in about three minutes, but you won’t be able to release for another five.

And this week we are in there with Draka and Thrall setting up portals for an invasion. Seems like it would’ve been the perfect opportunity to put a permanent portal in there to get us closer to the World Boss.

I’ve yet to encounter this.
That said, I don’t see why they couldn’t just put them in a cave or whatever, instance the cave. call it a day.

Would just be easier to go down the FFXIV route and just make them instanced fights. I’m even ok with the player having to travel to the location to queue up like FFXIV does. Keeps the player out and about in the world and yet doesn’t impact the world when players do the fight.

Plus this would allow groups to remove underperformers and those intentionally knocking the soul cages to the boss and other undesirable behavior instead of having to tolerate them like we presently do.

World bosses arent unplayable and are fine in concept.
But theyre not the most engaging content.
You go to the world boss. You join a group. You move out of the way occasionally, you say thanks and leave.

Any post that says that is factually incorrect, and likely would loop world bosses into it, so not really concerned with that.
I was just posing that question to try to elucidate the real answer.

That is, they want to offer a taste of progression level gear to those who are not currently in a state of progression level gearing.

They could remove it, but they will not replace it.
Its already too much for too little effort.

I dont get it, Maybe you always get groups with a better server or somthing? Every wboss fight sense BFA has been straight lag for me.

Not saying your wrong just for me atleast its like very very laggy.

I love the world boss fights and I love grouping with a mob of players in a MMORPG downing a large npc with health pools out of the conzillion!

I’m a tank, and he is the exclusive source of a red gem. If he wasn’t, I wouldn’t do him ever.

I’ve killed him twice, and now I have my red gem, and I will never interact with him again, and he will only exist to create lag near the raid instance or sometimes take down the Maw/Korthia world server.

All that said, other players exist, and other players are killing him and have loot they want to get from him, especially players who aren’t as progression-oriented, but from just where I’m sitting, I think I do, and I actually do.
