Stop Listening to Ex Employees

Did you… read the stuff some ex-employees are saying? Like Chris Metzen admitting fault and not doing anything to stop it and apologizing for being a part of the founding members that allowed this type of culture to foster? Or… you know… others? Or you just mad and coming here dipping your fingers in the koolaid without any idea what flavor it is?

Seems like a you problem, sis.

It’s absolutely normal to feel like you have no power in the situation, when the harassment is coming from the leadership. What would you expect people to actually do? Blizzard doesn’t exactly pay well enough to have any savings to fall back on, and when your actual ability to support yourself is tied to your job (yay capitalism!) it’s not a malicious decision to keep quiet.

Those that left and did speak up about it got called liars, and drowned out.

The only person that needs to “internalize and think” here is you.

Did you read my post? Or react to the title?

I think it’s the second one.

So again, show me where I am not supporting anyone? Show me!

When you want to get all grandstandy it helps to actually read the post further than the title.

Did you get to the end? Nah. Like the above, try finishing reading.

These people are even getting called out by the victims, not hard to find they are in the sub-tweet chains. Internalize my butt, these guys should be going to the State and not the court of public opinion.

A person can do both. A person’s life doesn’t end at their tweets. You think the state sent in spies and randomly discovered the harassment?

Nice tune change.

Yeah they can, but what help are they doing on twitter instead of going to the authorities who have a case open?

I have asked this throughout the thread. The court of public opinion is not helping these women, go to the State and really finally own up to it all. Or do you think that maybe these same people realize if they do this, they are probably going to be judged on the same level?

A combination of the two, really. The title is misleading if you’re somehow expecting people to “kinda sorta” listen to them.

Chris Metzen admittedly accepting and apologizing for a portion of fault. Would he have done it sooner? No idea. I don’t know the guy - but it’s SOMETHING to come out and take some amount of responsibility for whatever part he played in it… which suggests he is worthy of being listened to.

Did you consider that by saying something now at this crucial time, they are in fact doing something to stop it? Or do you think falling on a sword in a direct and immediate response to a mere symptom of systemic sexism is more effective?

But to someone as simple as you, nothing is about efficacy-- it’s all about putting on a show.

I don’t want to type it again but here!

Simple? Yeah, I often wonder how people treat others in life when they don’t want to have a debate properly.

Have a great day!

I see so many accusations of “victim blaming” going on but it doesn’t seem like many know exactly what that means.

Victim blaming would be to cast real doubt on the claims of the victim. Making comments such as “they had it coming” or “wouldn’t have happened if they had not…” etc.

There have been cases in the past where multiple people finally group together to take down someone who was tyrannical and succeeded. Justice was found.

There have also been a few cases where groups conspired against someone, seeking fame and money and ruined an innocent person’s life in the process.

People wanting to see how it pans out in court are not victim blaming. They’re wanting due process, which everyone is entitled to.

I’ve seen probably over 90% negative response to them. I don’t think they’re getting a free pass at all. Most of what I’ve seen is along the lines of “so, you knew and didn’t do anything?” People are wanting answers from them as to why they didn’t do anything if they were aware.

Should we also not listen to the dozens of CURRENT employees who have said this was correct as well?

Apparently not.

The defenders are out in full force. In fact in another thread a poster said everything is just assumption even if employees have come out and verified the claims.

You literally are on your 50th post in 1 hour. I am going to assume you live up to your silly guilds name and want attention?

Here is my temp attention.

Sorry what?

I haven’t posted since last night!

Do you have a problem telling time? Or you are so not bothered that this is what you opened with?

Tell me really! This is good tea to go with my morning coffee!

I legitimately feel these men are just as guilty. You don’t that’s fine. But get off it! Replies in an hour, yeah that happens when you post in forums, a discussion.

Yeah this definitely is “your temp attention”, I think you meant attempt, but not expecting a whole lot here.

Idk if most, maybe half. There’s plenty of them that were let go for being incompetent or redunant.

There’s one on Twitter who blames all of Blizzard leadership and wants them punished, then even says herself she was told she should stick to what she’s good at.

Then you check her linkedin for credibility and she changed positions like 8 times in span of 3-4 years.

They just couldn’t find something that she’s good at.

So OP isn’t completely wrong, some people are victims, some are just mad for being fired/replaced.

Best way to judge a company is to go to ex employers and talk with them!
