I wouldn’t mind it if they were completely new races like the Kul Tiran Humans and Zandalari Trolls at the beginning of the expansion, but six of them are literally re-skins.
My problem is less the issue of the grind involved and really the corporate philosophy that allied races are backed by. A fun grind is nice once and a while, but things like re-skins shouldn’t require reputation if these races we have now don’t require reputation.
Also, the acquisition of racial armor should be more progression-based and meaningful to your race’s lore rather than the core opposites we have, with allied races just needing to level and regular races doing a 15-minute lore quest.
So in your head, a race is the same as a mount or gear? Sorry, but I dont find it “lazy” for people not wanting to have to grind out on a race/class combo they dont want, only to have to do it over again.
It’s not a great system, I dunno why you make it so personal over a class/race combo that people want. Seems petty.
it takes effort to get something you want in game. when wrath came out you had to have a higher level to make a dk. when legion came out you had to have a higher level to make a dh. this is really no different. except now you can boost a toon most of the way for free once you buy the new expansion. leveling 10 levels then doing some WQ is not the end of the world.
That doesnt change the fundamental question of is it a good system or not. I got them as well, but that doesnt mean I think they are integrated well.
How is it “no different”? You didnt really lose progress to level to 55 on one race/class to switch to a DH or DK. You didnt lose any levels or time nor did it require you to sit at max for a set period of time only to reset your levels. It is not the same thing.
Ah other thread of group of entitled players demanding that everything should just be served to them, and nothing should ever be earned thread…how refreshing…
it’s not like it’s even hard, is the thing. you log in every few days to check WQ then do an emissary. do that a few times. then something else small. then they’re unlocked. lol.
Obviously. They made it as easy as possible while making sure they tie you to the game for X amount of time. Doesnt mean it is a good system.
Oh look another canned response in defense of a dumb system for races. Guess what I have them unlocked and I still think it’s dumb.
People who have played since launch obviously dont care. This is more in line with new or returning players who have not been playing since at least this xpac or legion. Races being locked behind a time gate is just silly.
i stopped at revered for months and refused to do WQ/emissary until i decided that i wanted maghar. so i did the rep and unlocked them. waited a couple of months then did the zandalar rep. and i was still done ages before they became open. and i drug my feet. it would’ve been like nothing to just grind it all to exalted right away if you’re not lazy like i am.
what’s the reason for ANYTHING you want locked behind rep? you need to show the faction you’re their buddy and willing to put in the work. you get the rep. you reach the rep. you get what you want.
Yeah Stomp your feet and say I paid my 15 dollars a month I deserve everything I get cause I special…just so many players do now. Cause any a little play time and oh doing the Story, is so hard…
