Stop free transfers off low pop servers

I’m asking Blizzard to stop free transfers from low pop servers. It’s been long enough now that people who wanted to leave could have left.

Bot farmers and paid farmers are exploiting it farming lotus and RTV non-stop and despite reporting, it’s difficult to find lotus in particular for the players that are actually attempting to play on these server groups.

The free transfers create incentives for bots and farmers to transfer there, or roll and auto level chars there, and then free transfer off after they collect enough lotus and arcane crystals etc.

Free transfers off only create incentives for them to continue botting and doing this on these servers.

Posting in support, this needs to go. If Mankrik/Whitemane want the materials they can farm them on their own servers. If Blizzard wants there to be more consumables available, then they should make a change, not allow this state to persist.

On my server there are 20+ bots/farmers online most of the time now, there’s been a huge increase over the last couple months.

Why I agree that the free transfers have long been used primarily for resource transfering, and should therefore be retired, I must point out that the end of free transfers would not be the end of bots on the low pop realms. Even with conservative conversion estimates, two bag slots of Black Lotus stacks would be the break even point for a paid transfer. If anything, this would be an even more compelling reason for the free transfers to end since more money could be made off bots (by Blizzard) with paid transfers.

I really wish they’d shut the FCM service off of low pop servers as well. On one hand I can understand some real player will likely be impacted coming back to their cloned era toon 4 years later (lol) and have to pay to move to a popular server. Bad experience no doubt.

On the other hand, people who play with communities on low pop servers (it me, I’m biased) are impacted daily by a plague of bots who steal our very limited resources and mule them to Whitemane.

It’s not the same as competing against players on your own server, or even competing against bots who stay on the server. They don’t then go post these on our AH so we can buy them. Instead it makes already scarce resources even harder to obtain, with no option for a secondary market on the AH.

Anyways, I’ve chatted a good bit with Aggrend about this and his stance is that it’s good for the health of Whitemane’s economy. Lol:

I’ve had a few people bring this up but i honestly do not see the harm in allowing this freedom of movement. Sure it might get abused sometimes, but honestly in a world where the economy is old and inflated, having materials come in regularly helps keep prices nominal. Not to say we won’t change it, but I’m struggling to see the actual problem with it.

I’ve pressed on it multiple times with him, and he is unwavering in his stance.

This is not really the epidemic you are claiming it to be, I’m quite sorry. I have the numbers and very few people are transferring off of your realm. It’s a handful in the last month. I have no way of knowing if those are “farmers” or real people coming back to era and looking to go to a populated realm. I’ll look into it a bit deeper, but if these are legit accounts, no we will not mess with this.

Le Sigh. Anyways don’t hold your breath.

I am herbing in Grobbulus quite often and see many times many bots just running around while posting nothing on AH and just transferring off later. Stop free transfers!

There is a tight community of low-pop servers, and everyone knows everyone. There is 1 guild on Alliance and 1 guild on Horde so all players who raid are in those guilds.

Just today I seen 4 bots - 2 guileless naked hunters and 2 mags. They go around and turn around like bots, don’t engage in conversation, pick herbs and repeat the route again and again.

Please blizzard stop this free transfer nonsense. Everyone who wanted to transfer off, already did 100%.

it’s not the number of people, it’s what those people have on their characters… obviously…

Aggrend is one of the WoW classic devs

So basically he wants the botters in game; you know darn well it has zero to do with the economy of WMC.

What I read from aggrend here is they are going to change more ERA stuff later xD

May be time for him to step down; his salary haven’t proven a positive outcome for wow classic.

I think that if this is his goal, he should consider a change that makes resources more readily available to a server without requiring an influx of materials from other servers.

I would be very curious to know what all those folks are doing picking BL and mining RTV on our server. He’s got the numbers, he knows what they’re doing… it would be helpful for us to at least have some understanding of what’s happening.

Because right now it just feels kinda bad.

Low-pop servers should not be used as resource colonies for Whitemane Classic. Stop free transfers, let servers actually keep our stuff, and be able to play the game, not just compete with bots that DO NOT EVEN POST ON AH.

So there is no way to even buy resources from bots; they transfer them to WM, so the only way is to compete with bots for BL and other stuff.

I’ve specifically pointed this problem out to a dev but to no avail. They seem to approve of the bots gathering banks full of stuff from Grobb and then free transferring to Whitemane to sell it on the AH. I wonder where all that gold goes?

Whitemane is hungry

GDKP’ers should feel the downside of no one farming for their gold imo. Not trying to get the system removed, but the bad side shouldn’t be quietly offset at the cost of low pop server’s resources.

don’t you get it :expressionless: they want you all off the dang low pop servers
they will continue to make it as unpleasant as possible until enough people transfer/quit
then they shut them down. that’s the plan.

Back in TBC classic I did this legitimately. Leveled up on an virtually empty server, farmed my brains out, and transferred off with the herbs and ore.

I’m sure someone is farming, consumes seem to magically appear on the AH
