unless you’re in the fast few mythic bosses or really high m+ keys and you wipe w/ 0.1% people generally dont care if healer dps. I’ve been in +15 keys where healer did 0 dps and still time it comfortably.
Maybe the DPS should do enough damage and stop expecting the healer to pick up the slack?
Also, if a raid requires extensive DPS, then it would also require intensive heals.
Healers should only focus on healings, DPS on DPSing and tanks on tanking. It’s how it’s always been and how it always should be.
Hope the healer was watching something while doing no damage, otherwise that makes for a fairly boring run unless the dps are really attracted to swirlies and/or don’t know what an interrupt is.
not necessarily true. There are dmg checks in raid that you want to hit otherwise you die but no real dmg during the time you need to hit it.
No it hasn’t.
No it shouldn’t.
People can. They just cant expect the same results as someone who does whatever they can to help the group if they dont want to do whatever they can to help the group.
pretty straight forward imo.
Sweet no more health pots or defensives or stuns for dps then. Damage buttons only
yea I bet. I would have been bored lol. Especially now you barely need to heal tanks and if people aren’t taking dmg all you’re really doing is wasting mana overhealing.
with this I will no longer press my dmg ability. I will only hence tank and I have 1 taunt button. If dps or healer can’t control their threat management it’s their problem.
Those things don’t involve switching out targets or spells/rotations. You just bop a button and keep rolling. If doing damage while healing was like that (e.g. with a short buff that caused AoE damage to radiate from the friendly target) I wouldn’t mind it, but I don’t want to keep a whole set of damage abilities on my bar and have to juggle it all when at the end of my day it’s not my job.
If things are ultra smooth, sure, but even during those periods I end up getting caught by surprise as the tank is suddenly at 30% health and I’m scrambling to switch contexts before he’s dead.
It’s not always a matter of if a person wants to. Sometimes they’re just not capable, at least not while healing well. I think most groups would prefer the healing to be done well to whatever pittance of damage the healer is putting out being bumped up a little, no?
In this thread: DPS QQing because they want healers to pick up their slack.
“Don’t tell me to move out of the fire! I’m DPSing here! The healer better do thier job and keep me alive!”
Probably not…
if you die from lack of healing because healer can’t keep up then it’s a healer problem their job is to heal after all.
Yes, with an emphasis on mechanics. Stop trying to find loop holes and twist what I’m saying for forum points.
I hear you it is difficult. I think much of this argument is philosophical in that it’s less about do I have the ability to and more about what someone’s ideal picture of what a healer should be. The fact of the matter is this, the game gives you damage spells, damage makes things die faster, things dying faster is better, and most importantly doing damage has zero impact on your ability to keep the group alive. Every single healer in this game is able to do a large amount of damage over the course of a dungeon or raid. Not doing so is a detriment to your group along the lines of a ret paladin refusing to use bop because he’s not a healer and it’s harder to press bop than not or a shadow priest refusing to use vampiric embrace because he is not a healer. This isn’t a single player game, help your group.
What healer do you play? Because basic damage on healers is like 3 buttons. Not too strenuous.
I believe in you.
Never seen a group complain about a healers damage on bosses like tyranical hakkar where they are doin 15k hps.
Its only at the end of a dungeon when they have done 500dps overalls that people look at them funny.
But…but…but…why should the DPS have to improve when it’s easier to force the healer to pick up the slack for their subpar damage?
I back all the lazy healers who don’t want to DPS.
which DPS said those words?
Oh wait, are you twisting words? Well itʻs OK i suppose because you added silly emojis to be “cute”
I see
Have the situational awareness to stand in The Big Green Healing Circle, instead of the , and I might get enough of a break from trying to keep you alive to hit my Moonfire/Sunfire macro.
Otherwise, my literal job title is Healer.
You do your job, and I’ll do mine.
