Stop backcapping during av weekend

I really wish I could play in what ever alternate reality you’re describing.

As someone who leveled 3 toons from 60-70 pre patch, then 71-80 all in AV, horde has roughly a 30% win rate. I get that both sides will have their noob hill/Aid station AFK crew. But there’s something up between the 2 factions - especially in a straight up race, alliance always wins only by a handful of seconds. It’s an imbalance but not a huge one - so there’s something else. 30% really bad. My guess is while both sides have this herd mentality, alliance is probably doing more of the “riding past” instead of 20 horde dismounting to kill 1 alliance.

I think someone above said it best as horde someone goes “berserk”. I’m also assuming that alliance afkers/noob hill also don’t defend towers - even if some of them are under attack lol.

I mean, this game is all about min maxing right? If you’re going to AFK, afk right. Do it in a bunker or a graveyard. Not 30 people at Aid station.

In many games where we could get Horde to actually rush north with enough numbers and take DBN/DBS, SPGY, we were mopping up just like the “Winning side.”

It’s not just about being Horde or Ally. Ally is better at the rush and Horde is better at the turtle, but that’s only under perfect conditions. A couple rogues/ferals interrupting caps on towers or a GY for just enough (20-30 seconds) in Frostwolf can give Horde a handy win if they make the north rush play, take IWB, and have the IWB group/rezzers take Balinda /mines after tower caps.

Backcappers are the true chads of AV.

Run premades with me dawg, 5 of us win AV almost regularly. After whats his face dies tell all alliance to run south. Then the 5 of us backcap SHB and IWB (of course NEVER taking SHGY) …

As long as frostwolf GY is taken and held by alliance its a super easy GG.

Alliance NEVER hold Frostwolf GY its so insanely important… its CRITICAL.

My best game was 12 minutes for 297k xp.

No. Their is an achievment for defending towers.

I have been Horde for Life since the game started. I am living the pally dream of having a Corrupted Ashbringer in my hands, and all the soft hearted, weak, leveling crybabies to slay that I could ever want. I PVP when I join a battleground. I fight to win, not to carry folks that are too lazy to level the traditional way.

I will never allow you Blues past my defensive efforts without you earning it the hard way. These towers belong to the Horde and will stand so long as I do.

You want to win? Earn it, you AFK, pve loving, alliance dogs.

That handful of seconds is exactly why a single player (or group) backcapping can change the outcome so drastically.

I’m around 59-60% win rate at the moment over 200 AVs played (mostly 71-79).

The difference is just that if you don’t have anybody stalling, you’re not going to win. My character is almost never in the north half of the map unless it’s a full blown turtle game and I need to help get Bal down and then push the alliance north and overpower them on the way to SP GY.

Every other moment of AV, I’m defending horde towers/base. Stalling for a few minutes is the difference between a low win probability and a high win probability.

I have 6 level 80s that i have leveled 70-80 in AV
5 alliance 1 horde, in my experience there isnt much difference between factions.

Yes, stalling can increase the chance of winning.
The bonus xp/honor from winning is nice. Let’s call it about 20% bonus. Most of your xp comes from burning towers. A 10 minute loss is vastly more xp per hour than a 30 minute win.

It’s important to realize that every time you kill someone on the enemy team they go back to their side of the map and are now most likely defending. They then kill a few of your teams offense who back to your base and defend.

You can see how this can quickly and easily snowball out of hand resulting in a turtle.

TL;DR Every offense player you kill becomes defense against your team. A little extra honor/xp isn’t worth risking a 30 minute game.

Thanks for coming to my ted talk on turtle reproduction.

I don’t understand… why play classic if not for the nostalgic joy of the game… you can min/max your xp leveling journey in retail… classic is meant to be played for the joy of the game. At least that is how I see it.

So no, I urge -all- Horde forces to defend and recap, if we are to lose, at least we can make the Alliance pay for every inch they take.

You’re not alone. If I’m in a BG it’s because I want to BG. These match throwers are no better than the ones AFK at the instance portal throwing gold to level. Lose on purpose? That makes you a loser in more than one sense of the word.

How much per inch?

Yeah OP just wants to be a lazy degenerate that gets spoon-fed welfare experience in a level 80 BG.

Why on earth are people being so inconsiderate to the laziest amongst us? Just because they’re useless doesn’t mean they don’t have feelings.

Feelings don’t win BGs. Feelings don’t kill bosses.

Feelings are not efficient, so for best xp/hr or honor/hr would it not be better to ignore feelings?

What a soulless thing to say.

The OP has every right to be a sensitive sunflower panhandling experience while not contributing whatsoever.

In a world with so many lazy degenerates, we have to acknowledge their feelings even if they are themselves the opposite of efficiency, and quite frankly, fun.

from now on every time there is an AV weekend i’ma be backcapping just for you BB. seems like the play.
