Stop Asking Players to Fix The Server Problem YOU Created

They didn’t create the server problems. The players created the server problems, blizzard just enabled them and made bank in the process like the dirty company they are.

I don’t have it backwards though. Blizz can totally manage the servers and caps. They didn’t have to keep FREE transfers open for months after I transfered creating this problem did they? Sorry but they mishandled the servers, caps and transfers. They effectively killed servers.

The Que problems is 100% Blizzards fault. They need to be accountable for it. Plain and simple.

Blizzard’s contribution was not being heavy handed about which factions they allowed free transfers. If a server was 60/40 in one favor, it should never have allowed the 40 percent side free transfers off the server. Just like it shouldn’t have allowed transfers to the 60 percent side.

But they opened the flood gates, and min max WoW players being min max WoW Players, flocked to whatever server they thought was most advantageous for them

They provided you with a solution. Free transfers AFAIK, don’t require you to be off cooldown for transfers. You either have to deal with queue times, wait until the hype is gone in three months, or you need to transfer

LOL

Do you really think that?

Why were all the PvP realms on Retail almost entirely lopsided? Nobody wanted a fair fight, they wanted to ROFLStomp the opposing faction.

I can accept that that wasn’t the motive for PvE servers, but it absolutely was not (and isn’t for classic) the reason why everyone rolls (insert faction here) on (insert server here) on Classic.

I’ll just deal with the queues. Transferring to a dead server and not being able to do any content isn’t a solution.

They did not provide me with an acceptable solution. You are wrong. I already explained why it’s completely unacceptable. It’s not my burden to continuously fix their problems or deal with their mistakes.

The difference is you can still find opposing faction in the world in retail no matter what server you’re on…

Just take a breather man. I know we’re all annoyed we can’t play when we want right now but you’re on the best server in wow and in a short while you will be able to log on without a massive queue. That’s how it has always been with new expansions.

One word for ya…

P H R E S H

would you prefer they move YOUR characters (and other humans with feelings) willy nilly?

No, but the playerbase collectively created the environment where people would rather be on a de facto PvE server than risk being the underdog on a living PvP server. This much is 100% the player’s doing for being griefing sociopaths without an ounce of care for the health of their server and their servermates. Precisely zero people are interested in “sustainable hunting”, and I know because I tried my damndest for all of Vanilla Classic to promote it. I was the change I wanted to see and meant precisely nothing.

Server balance is no easy task. Gamers think it’s something you can “just do” but all the tools available have their own consequences. In this regard the devs aren’t being lazy so much as they’re dealing with an impossible task with no good answers. A task which is made a hundred times harder by modern MMO players being heinously toxic and utterly without capacity to take responsibility for their actions and the consequences of them. They whine like toddlers that it’s not their job. Yeah, sure, and it’s not your job to clean the local basketball court, but maybe take some pride in your community and don’t trash the place. And if you do, stop acting all shocked Pikachu about your only place to toss the rock around being a dump.

The primary thing they could have and should have done was be more active in merging dead and dying servers. Obviously the immediate benefits would be tremendous, but more importantly it would have helped foster a sense in the playerbase that they would be taken care of should their server head down that path, consequently making them more likely to stay put. Downsides would have been extremely minor. But that’s… it. That’s the only purely positive thing they could have done. Everything else carries a real risk of significant fallout.

This is a terrible way to justify atrocious things. It honestly doesn’t have to be this way.

i agree but come on man they shut down 22 servers lol. that’s kind of a big number

do you know another game that not only has a monthly fee, but a 2+hr wait time just to log in?

Well, it’s not the first day Grob players that will be transferring. I think the transfer locust players that descended to Grob should be the first to vacate to make room for the true sons and daughters of Grob.

Can we just take a minute to realize this is Blizzards fault right here. They left open FREE transfers to Grob indefinitely for the most part compounding the problem. Instead of doing actual server management or capping the server. Then they never actually worked on stability and size of existing servers.

Blizz shouldn’t of kept open FREE transfers or lacked the care to manage servers. It’s really all on them.

You didn’t have to transfer to the biggest available server, y’know.

Should Bliz have implemented a freeze months before a major content drop? Nah. Queues will eventually slow down.

I can’t really play my Grob toons right now so I play some that I have on a less busy server (Whitemane). I wouldn’t want to put all my toons on a mega server for obvious reasons.

It was lack of policing population management that has him go to grob. Quit being a white knight for blizz. They can afford to set up the servers properly.

Tons of people didn’t transfer to Bennediction or other full servers. So stop blaming everyone for an issue that Blizzard needs to fix or should have fixed awhile back. A lot of people don’t want to transfer to only 2 alternatives because many have guilds that aren’t transferring.

But I will tell you this. If this keeps up a lot of people are going to feel that they are unable to play the game and just unsubscribe. That is a real possibility if this doesn’t get fixed.

More so players created a problem than blizzard did.

The community made a big deal that they wanted mega servers and well… they got it what they wanted without knowing the cons of being a mega server… after all you have consented before confirming transferring your character and making a new character on that server that the server is full is if new content rolls around (like Pre-patch and Wrath classic), expect queue times and also queue times are not avoidable.
