I ran into the bug, then went and did the quests down the hill in Anyport. Afterwards it worked just fine. Not a fix exactly, but I would have done those quests anyway so…
bugged for me 10-8-2020 – No wonder Shadowlands getting delayed. blizzard never fixes anything…
Do the Economic Opportunity with the Gnome near Anyport. complete that and then u can ride the mounts. shame no actual support here from blizzard

Yup, just getting this bug right now. Guess I’m gonna hearth and make my way back manually.
How are they about to launch a new expansion when a new bug like this still exists of the content of the original previous expansion?!
Edit: And right after I put this in, I noticed I had a buff for the “Drust Soulcatcher” on… so I turned it off and tried clicking on the vehicle again and this time it worked… so I don’t know if anyone else having this issues has tried removing buffs to see if resolves or not. I left the “Impressive Influence” and “Sign of the Critter” on, so you don’t go clicking those off on accident.

Good luck clicking off Impressive Influence. It’s forced on you, even if you want to experience the normal rep gain rate.
This is still bugged. Getting the flight path worked for me.
Same problem. Guess Blizz just doesn’t give a crap about fixing game interrupting bugs! How many years does it take to fix these types of things? Every time I run into a major bug like this, I come here and find it has been happening for litereally years with no fix. How very professional.
Here I am in pre-patch…

11/22/20 Still bugged.
Day after Shadowlands drop - still occurring. I had no luck throwing fire bomb before mounting, and relogging did nothing.

Had the same problem today (Dec 13th 2020) - Could not use Gryphon. Just hearthing and running it.
-Update- More like hearthed and WALKED it. It’s probably faster to just hearth!
I encountered this bug this evening. Seems to be tied to having explored the Anyport area prior to this quest. I also clicked on the gryphons and could not mount any of them. Then I walked down the hill until I reached the Anyport region and walked back to where the gryphons were located. Clicked on gryphon and was flown to Arom’s Stand.
Had this bug today but I’ve already done the Anyport quests. Ended up hearthing and turning in the quest without taking the gryphons

Still broken. Went to Anyport north of there and then just took the taxi back to Arom’s Strand to turn the quest in.
Had this issue at first, exited game and came back in and still had the issued. I went to read this forum and when I came back It worked.
