Stealth nerf to raid XP

Stop cheating, and yes play the game how they design it, stop exploiting

lol no, they would swiftly ban you back in the pre-activision days if you exploited. and appeals? good luck.

The original Blizz devs were very forward with telling you how they wanted you to play the game the way they intended and designed, and if this Kara thing had picked up steam back then, you bet your behind Jeff would have made sure every one of them would be banned.

None of what you just said is true. It’s not “cheating”, they were killing mobs with skills and gear the game provided and allowed them to do, and there was no exploit. You are great at gaslighting, but you are low on actual facts.

Banned for what? They didn’t exploit anything. The pathing from gold farms and boosts, maybe, but the kara farm was straight up face tanking mobs. There was ZERO exploiting going on. They might have changed or patched it quickly if they didn’t want it, but it wasn’t an exploit.

If blizzard thought it was fine, they would have left it, this is Blizzard’s world, you just live here. GET IN LINE OR HAMMERED DOWN.

Also, anyone with any classes can party up and farm kara for the same xp.

Oh i don’t disagree. I don’t like the change, but its their game and they can make changes any time they want. But nothing these people were doing were cheating or exploiting. They were literally just playing the game lol.

wow, looks like the blues saw the post and decided to move it from wotlk beta discussion into TBC discussion even though its about the beta.

absolutely shameless.

Apparently grouping up with others and killing mobs is now cheating and exploiting. :man_shrugging:

Well they applied the SoM fixes which didn’t include TBC, so I expect them to patch those eventually.

People wanting to level in kara only want to do it because it’s efficient, not because they genuinely want to level in kara. If it wasn’t quick, no one would want to do it.
I agree with blizzards decision. Level from 70-80 via questing or northrend dungeons.
This isn’t a case of “fun detected fun removed”.

Lol, all these exploiters just run from 1 exploit to the next,. If they spent 1/10th the time actually playing the game, they’d have max level chars for every class

Excellent. Thats a good change. I dont wanna be forced to spam 2min Kara resets and going in and out for 24 hours straight in order to be able to compete with 1.4m XP/HR.

OP is an obvious booster looking at the future where he would be selling those runs and RMTing as a paladin at 80.

You say open world while you sit in instanced content all day lol

This. Without Kara being changed, every player would be forced to spam the boring 2 min resets for Hours, which sounds miserable. Im still leveling through dungeons but it will be Wrath ones.

People would be getting to max level in 10 hours lol… Thank God for this fix

I think this is the main issue to address. It’s one thing if Kara raid spamming is an alternative, it’s another thing if Kara spamming is twice as fast as other methods. There was also talks about how gold efficient it was, someone said it was worth 1k gold an hour if you knew what to do.

The thing that sucks about this conversation is that some people feel like their creativity is being quashed, which I get to an extent, but in the Classic era where we are playing a largely solved game and if anything new gets discovered it spreads faster than a California wildfire and I think that’s what Blizzard is trying to manage.

It was different in the early 2000s where some obscure player discovered he could farm Kara and it was known by 1% of the playerbase. It’s different when someone can discover Kara can be farmed, and then it’s posted to 500 youtube videos, and every relevant discord to where thousands of other players are doing it within weeks if not days.

Edit: What I would not be opposed to is if they tried to bring “alternative” or “creative” methods more in line with what they designed for back in the day rather than quashing them outright so that people could have a choice between spamming instances or playing “organically”. But if you’re not going to do it if it gets brought in line with typical methods then that speaks volumes as to whether or not you actually enjoyed the activity or just wanted to prosper off of it.

Not a groups fault that Blizzard cant fix a mobs pathing issue. If a lot of these mobs had that issue fixed and maybe a higher resist to slows the it would make lvling more often require a group to kill. Adding knockdowns is a lazy cop out to a problem but effective nevertheless. That being said… a raid isn’t really a leveling zone.

This wasn’t same farm. This one had very little value gold wise. Just fast xp.

Yeah, I’m not sure on the specifics and what fast experience means. 10% faster is different than twice as fast. My edited point stands in that I’d be ok with them finding ways to bring it line rather than outright break it.
