Well its really hyperbole, as we do not have any numbers backing claims up. So in context you should only talk about what you use and do not use, and not assume what others do, unless you have fact, in which you don’t.
I think it was TBC, specifically Patch 2.0 that broke that. Because those addons exist on the 1.12.1 client for Private Servers; I used it…mostly due to being a lazy scrub.
I am in favor of breaking anything that breaks the game, and in doing so other things along the way may have to be broken. However that may lead to new add ons to take place of the good ones that where broken.
Stealth isn’t ruined, nor is PvP. Any lost advantage from reading the Combat Log is available to any player willing to pull out a 2nd chat frame.
Blizzard says you’re very wrong. The Combat Log tracks someone going into stealth. The act of entering stealth triggers a very unique audible cue that can be further enhanced with just in-game sound balancing. You are given tools and functions by default to know someone is sneaking up on you.
By all means, cite the error in reasoning plainly. I actually doubt you’d be able to restate my position as a syllogism with any sort of accuracy.
What are you talking about?
I’m not sure about that as I don’t remember being able to use Decursive in AQ40. I’d have to go back through Patch Notes to verify.
circular argument will be circular. This has all been debunked already.
I gotta say, that thread about discrimination against rogues sure is turning out to be accurate. People are so classist, it’s disgusting!
What determines ‘game breaking’? DBM warns me when Whelps are out or who has Living Bomb (fact it even marks them), Vuhdo allows me to cast heals with out actually selecting the target; in fact, in one click I seamlessly target and cast an ability. Decurse shows me who is ‘stricken’ and, like Vuhdo, allows me to target and cast in one click.
This has all been covered in the last 100 threads on this topic.
Get in stealth before you get into ‘spy’ range, then spy has nothing to track, thus will not show you.
Perhaps, but I’m asking what your stance is. - Seems people only want changes if something doesn’t benefit them. Once that something become a hindrance (ie required to get an addon or an addon interferes with their ‘fun’), suddenly it’s a problem that is requires immediate actions.
Basically, I’m interesting in seeing if you and the others in favor of removing (my guess) Spy addon also want raid addons removed.
…I dislike people who want things both ways; either remove all ‘assistant addons’ or don’t.
You appear to be talking to someone else because I haven’t the foggiest idea what you’re trying to even suggest.
how does that work when you are doing quests? You might be in combat killing mobs when you notice an enemy in the area? You go into stealth and they walk right up to you. I have had this happen.
Wait - You mean people don’t break out their combat log 24/7 on PvP servers anymore? I’d never understand why you wouldn’t…it’s very useful. Even just seeing activity in is useful.
I’ve never heard of spy - I’ll give it a try. Thanks OP!
for fair trade - I recomend reading “The Art of War”. It upped my gank game by over 1000
The pile of dead mobs you were killing for the quest tends to be a dead giveaway…
it does not prove whom killed the mobs, only that they are there. Come on man…
Only farm beast and skin them. No more evidence.
And while you were too busy trying to get an Eviscerate off so you could move on to the next kill, I sat there watching your dumb antics smashing away at an enemy.
Seriously, everything about your hypothetical is not only easily explained with a completely addon-less set of indicators, but is incredibly common. The game largely bundles areas together in nice discrete chunks with a few notable exceptions that people whine about all the time. It isn’t rocket science happening when I go into Stromgarde, see several dead NPCs, no one around, and hear Undead Male combat sounds in the floor above me.

Now see this is the kind of thinking I enjoy!
ya, if you have skinning lol! Also pvp is all situational. Its why people like you need to cheat to have the advantage.
Cheat (v.)
- Use of eyes or ears to notice an enemy before he notices you
- Vague knowledge of quest layouts, NPC locations, and likely routes of approach and escape
- Combat Log, just the entire thing, sitting there, ya know… EXISTING
then do it that way, instead of a raid frame to target and a loud buzzer to alert, and no coords.
