Nah, they bring back time-limited stuff when they please, even when advertised as “limited time only” and blah blah (e.g. Core Hound mount).
If they want to bring the appearances back (say, make them a reward on the 36-challenge FoS), they can do so.
(On a side note, they’ve stated they don’t want to diminish player effort in obtaining the appearances, so attaching the appearances to the FoS would be sticking with that statement).
Bellular did a poll, and the split was 60-40 between bringing it back. The anti’s are a minority, it seems, if the poll is accurate.
Honestly at this point its a matter of “Do we please a minority of players, at the risk of subs, or do we give those subs reasons to keep playing”. So far, and for far too long, theyve chosen the minority.
Eh with how ugly the monk recolor is, there is no point in doing the mage tower during timewalking for this character at least (the only one that looks good at all is the warlock).
To each their own I guess, I just leveled my monk because I think the recolor looks awesome.

I know they said the mage tower was going away because they didn’t want people going back in 8.x+ going back to do it super easy.
But I don’t recall the rewards ever actually being advertised as “time exclusive”.

It specifically calls out they are going away. So unlock them now, etc… Closest I could find looking over the last 10 mins.
Plain and simple, it would be bait and switch if they brought them back.
They said do the challenges now, they are going away. I for one, never played druid and had no desire to but once they said that I made a druid leveled it and unlocked the appearences because they looked awesone.

You can’t have it both ways buddy. Either people will quit the game over not having these appearances , in which case they’ve been gone since BFA started, or they won’t.

Completely agree with the pumpkin set, and warlock is definitely the best one, but come now man. The priest one looks amazing. I don’t play Alliance but that purple set for a void elf??? The DH and Mage ones aren’t bad either but I think you forgot Guardian Druid.

Tie the OG appearances to the 36-challenge FoS. Can’t genuinely say no effort was put in for them and people who want the appearances can get them. Seems like a win-win to me!

No. It’s impossible to replicate the difficulty that existed before and Blizzard has already stated they will be balancing these for the average player, “ie layer one Torghast brain dead easy.”
Blizzard says a lot of things, such as “You can solo at level 50 what you could at 120”. Also I’m pretty sure their words were “normalize” the challenges, not make them braindead. Although who knows.
So making an official post saying unlock them now they are going away isnt “advertising” as time exclusive? Interesting interpretation, I suppose.
Doing that at the end of the expansion when ilvls by far out gear the mage tower is different than when it first came out.
Like I said, I’m all about restricting them. But the time exclusive argument is weak imo.
