The quest Stay A While completely irrevocably denied me the correct path because my finger slipped on the ‘too busy’ button once and the quest never stopped progress no matter how many times I abandoned it, and I was even able to do all of the dialogue without it ever resetting. Reloading, rezoning, logging out/closing the game, and anything else I could think of completely refused to reset the quest. I should not be permanently locked out of cosmetics for a simple slip of the finger. My character is also permanently stuck without it until the reset functionality can be properly implemented (and I’m even concerned about my character not being eligible post-glitch, even if the actual issue itself is fixed). I submitted a ticket for it, but nothing has come of it so far, and I’d rather not miss out on content waiting for it to be sorted. Is there any way this can be fixed?
Can you do the quest on another character? Aren’t those Account wide once unlocked?
Sorry, I don’t have DF yet so I don’t know if it’s explained in-game and I can’t find anything on Wowhead one way or the other about it being Account wide or not.
GMs arent able to reset the quest or give u rewards unfortunately ull have to do it on another toon,
I almost certainly can, but I would extremely prefer not to.

This would be better addressed over on Bug Reports. No staff come here beyond our SFAs, and they’re pretty limited in what they can do. Posting in Bug Reports, it’ll be in a place where the Devs collect their data and feedback. Hopefully something or someone will be able to offer some way to get this pushed through for you.
Per Wowhead’s comment section, “If you leave early with the ‘I’m busy’ option, you can turn the quest in. However, doing this will lock that character out from recieving the follow up quest 
Memories to retrieve his time capsule - which awards the Spiked Crest customisation for the Renewed Proto-Drake.”
I think your only option is to do it on another character.
Or wait to see if it resets with dailies or server maintenance.
EDIT- also according to Wowhead, “You can go back afterwards and complete the RP without the quest, which will allow you to get the follow-up” Might be worth a shot.
that’s what happened to me at the time. it picked up where I left off but didn’t give me the completion flag.
