I agree, pop wings, everyone is constantly topped due to Sun’s Avatar unless its a really heavy hitter.

You need Virtue for almost any AOE.

Our core spells are starting to hit like wet noodles. Again.

Feast and Famine playstyle all over again.

I know this is a discussion thread about the state of hpal, but where it’s getting some attention and there are some good hpals in here, I’m hoping to get some tricks of the trade or nifty spell combos that could help with my HPS.

Is it worth casting light of dawn when the raid is mostly topped off or needs some AoE healing for the added EF buff from 4 piece?

What do you guys do between when there’s healing that needs to be done?

I know healing parses aren’t everything but I do think I could be cranking out some more HPS. I use blessing of summer and holy prism as best I can on cooldown, I try to line divine toll and virtue (If I’m running it) up with aoe damage, wings during liquify and that tank heal absorb on Queen, etc. But I’ll still parse a 50.

What will take an average hpal to above average?

One thing people seem to be missing a lot is how much more complicated hpal is to raid heal with than other classes.

To really smash a damage burst you have to time you beacon of virtue, prism, wings, and EFs almost perfectly.

Then for future ones you really want to hold the awakened wings to pair with prism and beacon. but that means tracking to get 14 stacks, holding until damage spike, getting the 15th, then casting prism. It’s complicated enough that there is a HUGE gap between a hpal in the top 100 and a normal 1.

Update!:

  • Paladin
    • Holy
      • All healing reduced by 5%. Does not affect PvP combat.
      • Fixed a bug causing Dawnlight to not have its healing reduced beyond 5 targets.
      • Dawnlight healing increased by 30%.
        • Developers’ notes: After continued feedback and further review on performance, we’ve decided to revert the planned Holy Paladin nerf for October 8 weekly reset. Additionally, we’re correcting the bug with Dawnlight and compensating with a buff to its healing to keep its value in raid close to its current performance, while giving it increased performance in 5 party group content.

Well hell, its about time.

Will need to see how it goes in raid but their intention is to buff in in 5 mans, which i am for.

Holy chit did they read feedback? Buffing holy shock or some other heal would have been better then that buff for me at least but least no nerf.

Me too, the last 18%ish nerf to holy shock + 6% overall nerf really made the spell feel from “powerful” to “ok” again.

We will see how it goes.
