State of Casters Phase 1

Hello,

I am wondering if Blizz is keeping an eye on logs and stats. Currently in WCLogs you see hunters, rogues, and warriors far and above the rest of DPS classes.

Spell casting is made extremely difficult through limited mana resources, constant resists, and limited availability of hit rating.

Can we get something to reassure those of us who are casters that we shouldn’t just reroll a melee class until 40+?

They aren’t balancing for level 25 content. They know some classes are better at 25.

They are just fixing obvious bugs.

No one cares about your level 25 BFD logs. Relax.

As a caster guy, I’m fine being at the bottom. I don’t want their time/resources spent tuning each new phase just to re-tune the next one because of previous fixes.

It’s part of the fun and experience seeing what’s pulling ahead at each step.

Only caveat being (which they’re doing) focus on game/fun breaking issues. Otherwise let it roll.

This is a fine sentiment to have “they’ll be better later” “i’m having fun no big”. The problem is kelris is so overtuned that if you have more than 2 casters, you will just wipe.

Like look at the logs, if you’re not a fire mage or destro lock, you’re probably having a REAL hard time doing him. You can see this by number of logs for each spec. There are MUCH less for these non listed casters.

Just look at chat. There is a reason you see tons of ‘5/7’ runs trying to fill. It’s because casters are so absolutely awful at kelris.

This is more my point. The guy above being inflammatory for zero reason thinking that we “care” about logs. Its more the point that how can the content be expected to he cleared by classes who cannot be expected to do the same throughput. DPS priest number one parse is 54, mage is 104, and warrior / hunter / rogue are 175+. So if my friends and I didn’t roll the right class do we just have to pug out friends who unfortunately rolled other classes? Its just frustrating to see.

The people constantly looking at logs in this phase truly need help.

Well actually, raid leaders care when they decide who to invite, and new raids were kind of the main change to actual content.

thats a player/community issue.
buffing classes because some raid leaders are picky is not the right way to go.

I mean if you’re worried about BFD parses you should reroll. But getting bent out of shape about BFD parses at level 25 is pretty braindead.

They should delete healers IMO.
Raid leaders not inviting you because they ‘need a healer’ is a player/community issue.
Leaving healing in the game because raid leaders are picky is not the right way to go.

“DPS priest” is not a class. your priest friend can just heal and join any raid he wants.

What about balance druid, elemental shaman, and literally every mage spec? lol. They’re all at the bottom (although spriest and balance druid are wayyyyy down there).

again, only mages might be in a bad spot. classes capable of healing can always just do that and join any raid.

Mages can heal, they should only heal in the raid. /s

You’re delusional. Kelris is a literal dps race. Classes that cannot pump, all casters who are note fire mages or destro locks, simply cannot perform well enoughon this boss.

No amount of any other support or utility you bring changes that.

Perhaps classic was that, and it just was what it was. But we have the opportunity to change things and let other people play classes they want. They’ve already set this precedent. That’s all we’re asking for.

sounds like an issue very specific to lvl 25 and one raid boss. not really a class problem. the solution is to lift the lvl cap, but they won’t do that for awhile probably, because this game is unfinished and we’re all literal beta testers lol.

It’s amazing to me that people seethe so hard over this level 25 content week 2 of the server launch.

It’s like their entire enjoyment of the game comes from warcraftlogs

You can’t say this is a beta test, have half the beta testers say something is seriously wrong , then say there isn’t a problem. That’s all you’ve been saying in every thread lol.

There are tons of things they can do to fix this, buffing classes/specs is the most risky i’ll give you that, but something’s gotta give. This is the content they want us doing. They made it for us to do. Telling us to not do it cause our classes/specs suck is a slap in the face.

I’m in the same boat as you; however, we know from Era that melee scales better than casters just as a matter of course, so it is mildly concerning that the gap is so large at this point. It’s only going to increase.

Now, Blizzard has lots of phases to figure out what they want to do here, but if we just end up right back at Era’s balance of Warriors (or some other melee) being the top by double, or even triple, then maybe that’s not so good.

For now, I’m content to :face_with_raised_eyebrow: and see what happens.

Oh, they’re keeping an eye on them all right, the same way they’re keeping an eye on all the bots, the question is do they care at all? Doesn’t look like it.
