Starting to think it's time to quit WoW

It’s still the best mmo out there, at least in terms of gameplay and combat.

How does this part work?

If this ever happens to personal inventories (which is nowhere near impossible now) you can bet your behind I’m out of here.

I’ve quit wow every expansion at some point. And then I buy the new one on launch day.

It’s a cycle.

by what metric wow eclipses them by active playercount so is this just your opinion on gameplay or something?

Now that I think about it, I think this is the first time it’s happened in WoW history

In previous incidents involving data loss they almost always restored/reverted the affected players, this latest expansion seems to be the first time they’ve openly come out and said “well that’s just too bad, sorry, we won’t be doing anything about this”

The precedent it sets is the most scary part imo… they’ve seemingly implied that their new policy is that they will fix bugs, but won’t make affected players whole after-the-fact. The implications are huge - it basically means none of your ingame “progress” is safe, even if you did nothing wrong

WoW players always use the “take a break” cliche non stop, it’s really painful to read. It’s like telling a cig smoker to “just take a break bro”, it’s nonsense “advice”, not even advice.

I mean if you are addicted to WoW where you can compare it to cigarettes, you have bigger issues lol.

It’s called an analogy, it’s not a comparison. I need to just stop responding to people who aren’t level 80, literally all trolls.

Not a very good analogy lol. It’s a video game, if you don’t like something, taking a break makes sense, or just outright quitting, something that’s quite a lot different from trying to quit smoking lol.

These are dark times in the Kingdom…

Video game addiction is a very real thing.

What ads?

Yes, I guess that’s why I mentioned it lol.

go play FF14. The community is 10,000x nicer
and you don’t get kicked from dungeons by toxic idiots (that’s bannable) and the community is fun .

the devs there jump on glitches and problems and actually listen to the community and hire so many staff that if people kick you from a dungeon a GM will respond to you in game after you open a ticket within 15 min and punish those responsible if it was for a stupid reason or for trolling

such a better community

True.

I aint getting the same ammount of entertainment for $15 monthly anywere else atm.

Basically what happens when Corporate suits try to make everything a number.

Personally I disagree. The community is less toxic overall than back in the “glory days” and it’s just as buggy and messy. It may have more bugs number wise but if you consider how much the content has grown the bugs per content is probably actually relatively low.

Regardless, I’m not here to defend Blizzard by any means. The reality is if it’s not fun, it’s okay to quit. I think WoW players often feel guilty or remorse to quit or move on when we have so much time and emotion invested into this hobby. But it’s okay to quit or move on, or even admit to yourself that you outgrew the game. There’s nothing wrong with that and nothing lasts forever.

Plus you can always just come back if you ever get the itch. Anyways TLDR: don’t feel like you have to play Bois. Take breaks if you need. Unsub for a few months. You can always come back for another tier.
