Depends what material of star wars we are talking. Are we talking episodes 7-9? Trash. Are we talking stuff like the clone wars and comics? Well that is actually alright I actually watched some of the new clone wars season via a free trial of disney +

Star Wars.
Some say the Chapter IV, V and VI trilogy set should have been enough of a story but I’m the forgiving type and will lump in I, II, and III and maybe Rogue One. Disney ruined it with the movies that followed.

Well Arthas’s story is almost as epic and anakin’s IMO. They are both awesome, only Up to Cata then the lore kinda became boring.

Taken as a whole, WoW. But if Star Wars had stopped after the original three movies I’d say Star Wars.

Look at them at their best, rather than at their worst.
Ironically star wars best story is the untold stories, the alluded to ones.
-Han Solo outrunning big correlian ships
-Vader hunting down and murdering all the surviving Jedi.
-Many Bothans died bringing us this information
-Han winning the Falcon fair and square
-That random character thrown into the background of one scene that looks amazing, yet was only placed their to sell a toy.
There are all these world building nuggets they throw out which cant help but peak ones curiosity and its our imagination that carries them… its like how in Jaws, you rarely see the shark so your mind fills in the blanks, it just heightens the anticipation. Thats done really well in the originally trilogy.
Warcraft has some of my favourite storybeats, in the orcs. Making them misunderstodd “noble savages”, unfortunately they have done all they can to destroy that legacy and keep morphing it into easier material for them to write. Orcs dont get to play as orcs anymore, now they are the forsaken lackys because that fits the central narrative.
as much as i hate the new sequel trilogy I’d say a concrete set of movies is better written than a video game with a bunch of spin off books.
The video game medium naturally has a poor narrative, especially in BFA where it was joke writing regarding Sylvanus and N’zoth.
Now if you were talking about WC3 and TFT that’s a different story because it’s a real campaign.

Anything before episode 7 is amazing. Especially the newest clone wars season and mandalorian. Old Republic has awesome lore that can be explored.
Wow lore has its good and bad parts aswell but Star wars to me will always win

Unfortunately they butchered that as well. They were a shamanistic race that was duped. Followed by a tribe that loves war, which we could blame on the demon blood. Then were easily riled into an army (iron horde) bent on conquering a world they know nothing about, without the blood. Then they took the blood willingly when they started to lose. Now Saurfang decided that war was no longer what they should be about cause “muh honor”
Least star wars nuked all the lore they didn’t like to attempt to write a more cohesive story. Too bad politics played a large role in the outcome and not just good story telling.
WoW because star wars movies including the originals are trash because they exist to pander to people who have no idea about sw lore and only care about cool laser swords and pew pew space fights.
Star wars games like swtor and books like the darth bane trilogy easily beat WoW.
Please say you are not talking about Rise of Skywalker. That movie was a hot mess. Fun, but a complete hot mess.
That’s a broad question. Star Wars with just the movies is a pretty awful generic story.
Star Wars with its extended universe such as Clonewars and Knights of The Old Republic are amazing stories.
I was recently amazed at how well Dave Filoni was able to tell the end of a story we already knew what was gonna happen, but still made you feel so tense watching it.

Hidden Fortress by far.
The story in Star Wars (even the original trilogy) was never anything remarkable. Neither has been WoW’s story.

They got rid of all the EU so they could reboot the franchise. Make it more marketable.
I don’t really agree with the approach but it makes sense when you want to reboot the story for the younger crowd. They aren’t going to go read a ton of material. Instead watch 6 movies and a cartoon series and you’re golden.

I’d say it’s close, but even with my bias I’d have to say Star Wars. The Mandalorian, Jedi Fallen Order, and The Clone Wars Final Season has been amazing! Star Wars is on an absolute roll right now, and after watching the final episode of The Clone Wars I just have to give it to Star Wars. WoW such as Old Soldier and Warbringers Jaina are amazing too… but it’s too muddied with the overall storytelling of BFA and execution and waste of amazing characters, that I just can’t say WoW has been doing good with its story in comparison to Star Wars. Even Rebels left me amazed by the end.
