Stack overflow crash

anyone know why this happens?

It depends what you’re doing, but for most people the most common case is infinite recursion, ie as a result of missing a base case.

If you’re dealing with c/c++ it could also be due to misuse of alloca()

It’s crashing wow in arena.

Disable all your addons first, then if it still happens file a bug report.

You can try launching in dx11 mode, but if your system meets minimum reqs and addons aren’t the cause then it’s bad game code

I’m more wondering if anyone else is getting the same crash in arena. The arena I was in multiple people were crashing.

its every dk match, there must be an ability or talent causing it.

thats 3/3 games where the DK has pressed something crashing me and my team mates to DC instantly with this stack overflow error.

Can confirm, when I get my second go on Army of the Dead it appears to be causing the stack Overflow crash in Arena. Disconnecting everyone including myself in the game.

DK so broken it’s even DCing people now?!

In all seriousness, post this in the bug report forum, please!

No one reads stuff here D:

Can confirm, just got this crash today and there was in fact a DK on other team, i wasnt the only one who crashed.

I just experienced this 3 rounds in a solo. There was a dk present.

Whole lobby crashed for me too with an unholy DK in it. Stacking lua errors then just white notification box and game froze.

I don’t play other MMOs anymore. Do they ruin their game for months every time they try to change anything like this? lol I don’t remember stuff like this ever happening in ESO or FFXIV.

Cleaning up old posts!

C and C++ are not even remotely similar. WoW is not coded in C++. Only C coding with LUA scripts. Forums are probably PHP. You’d be getting n’’ recursions here if stack overflows were actually happening.

weird, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OucPvp6ltb0&t=6m53s guess blizzard doesn’t know what their own engines are made in.

I write c++ for a living, not sure who you’re trying to impress here.

(ch ? ! = ‘q’ ) \\n/ Then what can you do with this? Just curious.

Edit. K of course you couldn’t answer. You cant do anything with that because I changed the C++ code for you to have to fix it in order to correctly do the member ignore feature. Easy to say you do something, more difficult to prove you do it.

Edit again Oh look even with the stuff removed it still auto colour coded some of it so… yea that is a C++ that you were incapable of reading because you cannot do what you say you do.

C and C++ are very different. Who in their right mind would try to argue that fact?

You need meds m8. C/C++ is an extremely common shorthand used by every experienced dev, including the former technical director at blizzard. You posting random incorrectly formatted ternary expressions isn’t doing anything.

So I just proved that you do not code it in any way shape or form and you just did that insult nerd rage there because I exposed you. You have zero idea what was going on. Why mention C? Just incase that was what was there? 0 C was in that code. Only C++ would cause my words to turn into those colours at random. And I didn’t even write it correct either, you dont even know how to fix it, instead you just nerd rage at me. I mean….if you WRITE this code for a living then would a 4 second fix be too much to ask? It would literally take 4 seconds or less for you to fix this code. It takes more time to type a sentence then it would to fix the mistake (s) I put in there. You don’t write it for a living. That much is obvious. I mean…….what does that line even do? What I wrote to you? What is it? When it is properly fixed, what function does it have? Oh and btw…. it is possible to change that to C but it isn’t. C/C++ are different because C++ is usually taking C programming and adding to it. I wrote C++ there. You could make it C easy simply by taking away that which does not belong in a C code after first making it C++ by fixing the mistakes that I made to the line I typed. What’s that? Can’t fix the short line of C++? Well you must not do a very good job at “writing C++ for a living then as you couldn’t even fix a simple mistake. No C in what I wrote. So no need to refer to my stuff there as C/C++ You call it C/C++ because Google search says that about this. But it isn’t. You don’t code it, can’t read it, can’t fix a simple line. You thought it was typed correctly until I told you it wasn’t.

Just found the lonliest most boring person on the internet.

So you’re a self admitted pathological liar that does not do anything with C++ at all. Sucks to be the copy paste coder and not even know what your coding. The lines I wrote to you do not work. Need them fixed. Its your job isn’t it? I wrote that code. it works when you make the changes, so change it or just admit you were lying.
