Would it be possible, as it seems reasonable enough to me, to have the Average Wait Time not reflect ALL players in SS queue but rather all those with your role? I have yet to see a queue time under the average as a DPS, and I can only conclude that is because Healer and DPS times are lumped together.
This would be a simple and nice QoL change so at least I had a better idea of how long I’d be waiting. Yesterday I had an 18min Average Wait Time and my queue popped at 1hr 3min. Those, friends, are NOT the same.

Oh? I hadn’t heard anything about it. I suppose at least it’s on their radar? I am not a programmer, at all, but from a high level this seems like a pretty easy thing to implement. Heck, it would work for Dungeon and SS queues, honestly.
whoah, thyats actually pretty rough to deal with. 1hr 3min. but 18min average wait to get u to wait the 1hr and 3min. if it said 1hr 3min average wait time, would you wait that??? i don’t i could or would or will or have or other words
Well, you can (if you want) queue for BGs in the meantime, or Skirmishes. At least it’s something to do! 
I thought that it was already calculated based on spec.
There’s just no way for the inner system to know who is going to join or drop queue.
In the queue time window, there is a symbol with your spec in it so I’d assume it’s already calculated that way.
I see that, Mindfields. I just find it hard to believe that given how popular SS is that the average wait time can be SO far off. Ya know? Maybe Blizz is trying their best and it’s just a nasty beast to pin down.

Were you queuing for other stuff too?
It’s just an average. But if the last 50 games were 20 minutes but all the healers logged off in your mmr range after those games then the actual time will be quite a lot different than the average. They have no way of knowing how long healers will play for, or when they’ll log on and queue, etc.
this seems the most logical thing that isn’t some psychological torture plan of attack to get ppl to wait an hour.
