I just waited 30 min in queue on my rogue at like 1800 MMR (as assassination) to get into a game with TWO RETRIBUTION PALADINS AND A FROST MAGE
I’d rather wait 40 minutes to not have that please. Every single round there’s a ret pally on the other team bopping off my dots and goes. Granted at this MMR they’ll forget to bubble and block, but I could not have been more hard countered in terms of lobby composition.
I was also under the impression you couldn’t get double specs in a lobby…
Also those wins were freer than a dollar tree headset for the mage, my goodness.

I think that the matchmaker attempts to give non-duplicate specs priority but if there’s a limited pool of players to draw from you’ll still get 2x of the same spec from time to time. Very rarely 3x, usually in the case of a spec being broken beyond comprehension (havoc, ret, etc) or just nobody queuing at that mmr
Ah, so don’t queue mid-day probably. That makes sense.
And don’t play your favorite spec.
Imagine if you wanted to play some genji but you had to wait 40 minutes
that’s been my DF experience too
pink = stink !!!
yah well I 6-0d the 2 pair

I feel your pain here. I have been trying to get 1800 on my assassination rogue alt, and it definitely feels rough to climb on (I’ve been hardstuck around low 1700s for several lobbies now, admittedly I’m playing like trash though and am very inconsistent).
Still fun learning, and I know that if I keep at it, I will eventually knock the mog out.
Just gotta keep grinding
I also agree, the queue times are kind of depressing
As much as it sucks when rogues are op, I will give rogue mains some props/credit. You play one of the hardest classes.
Tell that to my warlock that got treated to double arms war on blades edge.
so you’re saying you got free points every round huh
Playing Warlock into Warrior in 2’s on Blades Edge is kinda nice as you can deal with 1 person and abuse the z axis, but playing it into 2 melee in shuffle is a nightmare. I would much prefer a larger map with pillars to kite around. It’s why the map is hated by everyone because depending on comps it can be bad for everyone.

shuffle really exposes how bad certain comps are together. I particularly notice Arms doing terribly with sub rogues more than anything, both classes strength’s is their control, Arms doesn’t do enough burst to finish a target, and sub DRing stuns and doing minimal damage outside of burst CDs just feels really bad.
There’s obvious other bad compositions, but warrior rogue feels like the worst of any to me personally. particularly arms+sub.
I just recently finished my sin rogue, I died a little inside anytime I got lobbies with double paladins or mages and then another layer of protection behind dwarves racial dispelling bleeds because they can make the entire kit of sin be irrelevant. It’s such a hard counter, I was so close on turning around and going back to playing sub but eventually came through.
