That is you though - most people aren’t you. If most people in this game wanted challenge most people would be mythic raiding.
maybe, but then again the numbers were much higher when open world actually had a challenge to it. only blizzard has an idea on whether that part had an impact but the game was still most popular then. raiding and dungeons hasn’t changed all that much since the games peak either.
The level squish isn’t going to be some magic bullet that makes everything better. And anything they do in addition to the squish can be done without the squish.
You’re putting way too much hope into the level squish. They’re going to keep doing stat squishes and item level squishes. Now you’ve added a third squish for them to keep track of, because they’re not going to do just one level squish.
It’s all an assumption right now. I’m just tossing out ideas on how I think it could help. I do see it could also be a disaster.
My points were clearly more then about professions, as you just cherry picked a line to bash vs taking what I said in full.
As you just seem to want to play end game and care less about the RPG leveling experience you should go play overwatch. Leave thinking to others.
Nah, I just pointed out that a squish neither addresses your concerns, nor is necessary to make the leveling system what you want it to be.
Also agreed with you that professions need work.
Shame you turned out to be a defensive, fragile person with that last comment. Oh well.
I believe the first post of yours I made a comment on was how all that needs to be done is buff xp and fix talents/spell distribution.
That don’t fix things at all for leveling. That just continues the same BS we got now besides maybe a bit better talent distribution. How long will that last when the level cap is 160+?
So as you disagree with all my ideas, and don’t want the level squish. What great ideas you got for making the leveling experience from 1 to max more enjoyable?
Oh and my last comment was not defensive, just testing to see if all you do is argue, or are you capable of debate. Can you actually come up with some unique, helpful ideas for leveling?
If you want leveling to feel more like the grind it was in vanilla, power to you, they’ll never do it. It’s past the point of no return, barring a massive (non-squish) related overhaul to the game world, like Cata. For now, the best thing they can do is make leveling more rewarding, and give people more abilities to play with.
The return of talent trees and tradable profession loot would also be nice.
Sounds pretty defensive, but I won’t judge.
more abilities certainly won’t make the game magically better.
When a lot of people are upset about the abilities they lost, having them back would make it better, actually.
add back in the faster ways to level(300% potions)
Talents every 10 levels(i would be fine with passives that modded abilities)
heck they could even add in mess around talents like eyes of the beast.
i believe they would messed up a level squish.
To this day, I still don’t understand why that got cut.
I played a lock and rogue at the time at it still annoyed me.
they actually came out an said that was a mess up on their part but as you can tell they never added it back in. so they dont really care
“Yeah, that was our bad. We shouldn’t have done that.”
…“So, are you going to give it ba-”
“Nah.”
Talent tree would be nice. It was an enjoyable part of the game before, along with glyphs.
How do you expect to trade in professions with the stat squish? Besides heirlooms, the other gear slots can be filled once fairly early and last for a really long time. As far as mats and other crafted stuff that too is effected by the stat squish. Making it near useless for trade or use.
Please do not squish levels. Thank you. I agree with OP 100%
I wrote a detailed idea on how to improve leveling HERE.
Just scroll down a bit because it is where I am compiling all my ideas.
Im all for a squish if done properly ie: all past expansions are put into the Caverns of Time and 120 players are squished to lvl 10 ( new players start at level 1) with a new Eastern kingdoms and Kalimdor the new expansion with new max level of 60.
If you enter old world level 60 character becomes level 170.
I skimmed it earlier, it’s pretty good from what I remember.
Funny how the players typically have better ideas.
Why, though?
Well, I am sure they can find a halfway point between what they want us to want and what we want (generalization). Glad you liked it! Hopefully it gets a bump from time to time!
I don’t think a level squish would break the game but I don’t really agree with it either. They need to add a lot more talents and abilities back to the game. Like a talent row every ten levels.
