Again Activision/Blizzard…not just Blizzard Entertainment. Not that it makes what happened at BE any better…just for accuracy. Since you are talking about the accuracy of another persons article.
I am not being clueless. I am being realistic. No one is currently under risk of desposition because there hasn’t been any court rulings/orders/indictments. And even then, then people that came forward publicly would be considered a compromised witness because they could easily be targeted for a bribe or other issues.
And you are arguing in bad faith believing investigation and testimonies alone is enough for guilt when in reality it is just as bad as unverified media, which the public reporting of said lawsuit is only baised on what media had said.
There is no ‘risk’ involved in a deposition. The depositions were gathered by the state in their case…
Not the state, but an private agency that is paid by the state, one that has no court or legal authority.
Talk to me when a court decided they are guilty. Until then they are innocent until proven guilty.
The company is Activision Blizzard and thus they are all Activision Blizzard employees. The ones I have see speak out were all Blizzard (I am sure there were some others, but I didn’t see them).
For instance the Activision Blizzard walk out was focused at the Blizzard campus and not Activision or Activision Blizzard offices.
What are you on about? So a law firm collects depositions acting as a legal agent of the state in a CIVIL suit, which isn’t CRIMINAL, it’s CIVIL and somehow it’s invalid because… you are completely uninformed about how legal entities operate?
just like Osama Bin Laden, right?
OBL was not a US citizen but an enemy combatant, though it appears we have citizens who want to become enemy combatants.
And before you go testimony = evidence, keep in mind that testimonies that supports the victim is common due to it provides good pr which helps ppls resumes, and oftenly via history, is false. This is why hard evidence is important in these kinds of accusations.
People jumping blizz bad without real evidence to another company with basically the same accusations are hypocrites.
I mean, yes it’s a testimony but this also isn’t exactly a new trend. People were talking about their experiences working with Blizzard that hinged on mistreatment of female employees and sexual harassment in the workplace for upwards of five years before this. One of the biggest things to look at is patterns here. They do this with serial rapists when six women come forward and all express a very distinct characteristic. For Bill Clinton’s accusers for example this was tongue biting. Every single one of them went with this.
Given how Blizzard has also reacted in light of this, first with outright aggression, to now trying to do as much damage control as possible it kind of lends to the belief that there’s a lot here that we will see in court.
If Blizzard hadn’t reacted in the way they did and just simply said “These claims are unsubstantiated, we will be seeing you in court.” in a neutral tone, people probably would have been more wait and see about it. The fact that their initial response was to lash out, a pretty damning memo got leaked on top of a mountain of circumstantial evidence, it’s looking pretty close to confirmed.
I say this as someone who always believes innocent until proven guilty. Even during the Kavanaugh thing, my response was “Don’t care much for the guy, but we’ll see how this plays out.” which ultimately went nowhere with the chick who looked like Garth from Wayne’s World changing her story drastically every time she told it. When she started doing that I was thinking “Yeah she’s probably full of crap.” but I still waited to see how it turned out.
TLDR - These are testimonies yes, but Blizzard’s knee jerk and hostile response have done a lot to lend credibility to the belief that these are actually valid. I’d be very surprised if it actually comes up in court to be entirely BS.
Hope you guys all feel great while you flock to Final Fantasy 14.
Wow.
I have such empathy for you right now.
I literally feel bad that there are people who have to navigate the complexities of this world with such a tiny mind.
It’s how I felt about my cousin’s cerebral palsy. Sometimes the unfairness of the universe just hits us right between the eyes.
So what your saying is, when claims are refused to be documented due to sexism then those claims should not be believed. Unless of course the person making the claim is a woman, because we must always believe women when they make a claim of sexual harassment.
THATS IT IM THROWING OUT MY Kh3 DONALD DUCK FIGURINE
ANGER
DONALD DID THIS
Why exactly do you care what game others play? Stick to your lane.
It’s not a surprise that other gaming companies suffer from this and a lot of people were looking for a reason to quit WoW since the game is pretty boring even after having completed mythic raid of the previous tier and giving this tier a shot.
The Mythic + affixes this season are also lack luster.
Most of the in-game systems are chores that have been woven in as requirements for log-in metrics.
The game just isn’t all that fun for a lot of people and the decline has been gradual.
There was a time where blizzard had 12 million subs and can’t even come close to half to that anymore.
Each new expansion has a much greater drop-off in active players. 41% after launch being the greatest drop which has happened this expansion.
More people aren’t coming back… for now at least.
Try reading.
While this was still bad, and I feel for the man that lost his job, it pales in comparison to what happened at Blizzard
